Sony has finally put all those waiting for the PlayStation 5 out of their misery, and revealed the price and release date of the long-awaited console.
The PS5 looks likely to feature in a few Christmas stockings this year, as it’s out on November 19 (November 12 in North America, Asia and Australasia), and will cost £449.99 in the UK.
It’s all very exciting – but just when can you pre-order your PlayStation 5 – and what games can you expect to play on it?
Here’s what you need to know…
How can you pre-order the PlayStation 5?
Amazon was taking pre-orders from 9am this morning but is now also saying they are out of stock, while Currys PC World’s pre-order page appeared to have crashed soon after their stock went on sale at 9am.
Other websites such as Box.co.uk and SimplyGames are allowing you to register your interest – while on the pre-order front you’ll have another chance to snap yours up when Argos’ pre-orders are launched on Friday.
It’s also worth keeping tabs on websites such as Amazon to see when the console might be back in stock.
What games will be available for the PS5?
The console will come with Astro’s Playroom pre-installed – however, several other games will also be available on launch day.
They include Demon’s Souls (£69.99) Destruction AllStars (£69.99), Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales (£51.99) and Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales (£69.9) and Sackboy A Big Adventure, which will cost £59.99.
Harry Potter fans can also look forward to the RPG Hogwarts’ Legacy – which was announced at Wednesday’s PlayStation 5 showcase and will be out some time in 2021.
