I found a wedding gown worth $6,200  at Goodwill for just $25

A woman stroke gold when she found a wedding gown worth $6,200 for the small price of $25 at her local Goodwill store.

Emmali Osterhoudt was shopping at Goodwill in Birmingham, Alabama when she came across the rare find.

She made a TikTok video which has since gone viral, racking up more than three million views along with thousands or likes and comments.

Emmali said: ‘I’m making this video because today I found my wedding dress at Goodwill for $25 (£20) and it fits me like a glove.

‘It wouldn’t need any sort of alterations if I want it to but it’s gorgeous. I found it online and the original price is $6,200 (£5,000). It’s by Galia Lahav.

‘Paris Hilton, her most wedding dress was from this brand. Beyoncé has worn this brand before. But it’s just so stunning.’

Emmali then showed a close up of the material, which had pearls and rhinestones on it.

The glitzy white dress featured a floral pattern on it and complemented her slender figure perfectly.  The frock was low-cut at the back and had a plunging neckline.

She captioned the video: ‘I’m so freaking excited about this find, I may not even use it when it comes to the day because I’m not getting engaged or married for awhile but maybe its fate lol also JLo has worn this brand as well #galialahav #galialahavbride #goodwill #weddingdress @Galia Lahav.’

Stunned people took to the comments to discuss her luck at finding the gown, with some saying they’ve never seen a Galia Lahav in real life before.

One user wrote: ‘You found a Galia Lahav at Goodwill? You are the chosen one omg.’

Another penned: ‘if you found it and it fits that well, that’s a sign it was meant to be yours!!!!’

A third said : ‘We literally sell this dress where I work for $6800 20/10 find.’

A fourth commented: ‘As someone who has worked in bridal for 9 years and still has never seen a Galia lahav in person, my jaw is on the FLOOR. The find of a LIFETIME!’

As many people were shocked and baffled about the TikTok, it promoted Emmali to make a follow-up video.

She revealed that she had only popped into the thrift store to find some picture frames for a wall and that the shop had ‘nothing but the dress’.

She said: ‘I had already checked out, bought my stuff and was about to leave and I saw a section we hadn’t hit.

‘We went over there and boom. It was just beautiful and it was there and I had no idea it was designed by Galia Lahav until I was checking out.’

The TikToker also said she didn’t realize the value of the dress until she had bought the stunning garment.

She also responded to a comment where someone asked why she bought the frock when she is not engaged.

‘Even if I never planned on getting married, I probably still would’ve bought that dress just because of the value.

‘I could’ve resold if I wanted to for such an amazing price. I do not plan on selling it,’ Emmali said.

Another question she got asked is whether she planned on cleaning the dress with sage to rid it of bad energy.

She said she doesn’t really believe in superstition or bad energy and thinks that ‘beautiful things can come from bad situations.’

‘I don’t even know how I got so lucky, they don’t even sell her dresses in any stores in Alabama. I would like to say thank you to the girl who donated it to Goodwill because it made my whole entire year.

‘And little Emmali who has loved weddings since she was like five is kicking and screaming right now because she’s so exciting,’ she added.

Emmali ended the video saying that she may make another clip in a couple of years time wearing the dress on her special day.

People reported that Galia Lahav heard about Emmali’s video and plan to donate more of their dresses for customers to find at Goodwill stores.

Galia Lahav said to the outlet: ‘It’s a reminder that sometimes, life’s surprises can be as beautiful as the dress itself.’
