A woman has claimed she saw a ‘ghostly figure’ at I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here’s haunted new location in Wales.

Gwrych Castle is said to be haunted by Countess of Dundonald, who owned the building until her death in 1926.

Last year, Toria Westwood took an image of the white outline in the upper window of the estate after insisting she and her 16-year-old daughter Eleanor had spotted ‘something spooky’ during a day trip.

Toria said: ‘We love the castle – though it is spooky. My daughter is convinced she saw something.

‘We were on the terrace taking pictures of the view, my daughter shouted mum look up there.

‘I quickly took a picture of where she was pointing. She said she saw a lady – and I can see her on the picture too.’

A spokesperson for ITV declined to comment when approached by MailOnline.

Winifred Cochrane, who is said to haunt the towers in anger at her tyrannical husband, was an extremely wealthy heiress who had land that stretched across Wales, Lancashire, Cheshire, Staffordshire and Derbyshire.

The aristocrat was the only surviving child of Robert Bamford-Hesket and Ellen Jones-Bateman, which made her part of the Marchudd ap Cynan, one of the 15 noble tribes of North Wales.

In 1878, aged 19, she had an arranged marriage to Douglas Cochrane, 12th Earl of Dundonald, who later became world famous for leading the charge at the Relief of Ladysmith, during the Boer War.

But while her husband was lauded as a British Army general, the marriage was unhappy, with Douglas spending most of his time in Scotland, while Winifred stayed in Wales with their three children.

This year’s contestants will be shunning shorts, vests and hats in favour of winter woolies, as they wrap up in jumpers and thick gilets.

ITV bosses have reportedly put the new look together so celebrities are protected from the low temperatures predicted during filming.

While the stars usually bask in temperatures of around 30C (86F), the latest batch will have a very different experience as they battle with temperatures of around 11C (52F) in Abergele.

The Sun has reported that some of the big name stars from the series have already been fitted out with their gear, including Jessica Plummer, 28, Vernon Kay, 46, Sir Mo Farah, 37, and Shane Richie, 56.

Elsewhere, it was revealed recently the production staff will reportedly be accommodated at a caravan holiday park in North Wales during filming.
