Influencer Steph Claire Smith and husband Josh Miller make $1million profit on their Brighton East home

Steph Claire Smith and husband Josh Miller have sold their Brighton East home, making a profit of nearly $1million in just three years.

The fitness influencer, 28, bought the Melbourne pad with her social media star husband in 2019 for $2.475million, according to realestate.au.

It sold in June for a whopping $3.455million at an hour-long auction, netting the couple a profit of $980,000.

Steph told her 1.5million followers last week that she wanted to keep the reason behind the move private and they were staying at her parents house until they moved until their ‘dream home’.

Gary Peer Caulfield North director Leon Gouzenfiter told Newscorp that the home sold for ‘comfortably a couple of hundred thousand (dollars) above reserve’.

‘Four or five families competed and it was purchased by a local family that was very familiar with the area,’ Mr Gouzenfiter said.

‘They were happy to buy something that was really nice and not have to go through a build process, especially with the uncertainty of building prices.’

The home was only bought four years ago, and originally made as a display home.  

It comes after Steph was forced to defend her decision to remain a working mum after welcoming her son Harvey 18 months ago.

Steph, the founder of the Keep It Cleaner workout app, told 9Now she was frustrated by her critics’ ideas about what makes the ‘right’ family set-up.

She said trolls have slammed her parenting arrangement with Josh as ‘unnatural’ and that it ‘shouldn’t be done’.

‘He’s an incredible dad,’ she said. ‘He’s doing a fantastic job… he’s immensely proud of being a stay-at-home dad.’

Steph said it was important for all new parents to have a conversation about ‘who was going back to work and when’.
