Irish tourist, 20, fights for life in hospital after plunging three storeys from hotel balcony in Majorca ‘after being chased’

An Irish tourist is in hospital after falling three floors from a four-star hotel in the Majorcan party resort of Santa Ponsa.
The 20-year-old Irishman was in serious’ condition with head injuries following his fall from the third floor of the four-star TRH Jardin del Mar Beach Hotel.
Emergency services took the man to Son Espases Hospital in the island capital after the alarm was raised just after 4.30 Saturday morning when responders found him at the back of the hotel in a gap between the hotel building and a small wall.
Local media said he told emergency responders he fell while being chased.

‘We are investigating an incident in which a 20-year-old tourist plunged from the third-floor balcony of a hotel in Santa Ponsa’, said a spokesperson for The Civil Guard, who is investigating the incident.
‘He has been taken to Son Espases Hospital in Palma.’
Emergency responders stabilised him at the scene for around 25 minutes before taking him to hospital in an ambulance, with his worried friends reportedly following close behind in a taxi.
On May 3, a 50-year-old Irish tourist was rushed to hospital after falling from a second-floor apartment in Santa Ponsa, a popular resort with Irish holidaymakers which is around a 15-minute drive from Magaluf.
Only nine days later, a 34-year-old British tourist plunged to his death from the seventh-floor of his hotel in the holiday resort.
Witnesses filmed him pacing up and down a narrow ledge on the outside of his balcony at the four-star Melia South Beach Hotel before he fell.
Police said he had been drinking before the 8.30am plunge.
Later the same day, former Dutch footballer Mourad Lambrabatte died after hurling himself off a cliff in a tombstoning stunt in front of his partner and two children.
