Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is the upcoming instalment in the never-ending series of loosely told history. The full list of trophies and achievements have been released prior to its fast-approaching launch, and lots of people are excited to become a Viking to ransack an England which is only slight less civil than it is right now during lockdown. Some people are asking is Assassin’s Creed Valhalla multiplayer and co-op, and here you’ll find an explanation for the online gameplay.

The first 16-minutes of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla on Xbox Series X has been shared online, and the game does look impressive. Although some old-school fans are annoyed about the apparent lack of stealth in a game and series named after assassins, there are many others who enjoyed Odyssey and are happy Ubisoft are continuing their efforts at replicating the best aspects of The Witcher 3 as much as possible.

Whether you’re a newcomer or a series veteran who enjoys Ubisoft’s RPG-like approach, below you’ll discover whether the game is multiplayer and co-op.

Is Assassin’s Creed Valhalla co-op?

There is no co-op in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla has no co-op as the game is purely single-player meaning you can’t ransack a village in England and terrorise its citizens alongside an actual mate of yours.

Although there was no two-player feature in Odyssey or most other entries, there was in Unity and there were rumours for this year’s take on Vikings and Norse mythology.

However, Ubisoft confirmed to Eurogamer back in April that Assassin’s Creed Valhalla has no co-op and is purely single-player.

But, there is an online aspect of sorts.

Does Assassin’s Creed Valhalla have multiplayer?

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla does not have multiplayer.

However, while Assassin’s Creed Valhalla does not have any multiplayer, there is an online component.

When speaking to Eurogamer back in April, the game’s lead producer, Julien Laferrière, said that there are “many online components, encouraging players to share their progress and creativity”.

As for what this omission of multiplayer but inclusion of online entails, the Assassin’s Creed Valhalla official website says that you’ll be able to “share your custom raider”.

Per the game’s website, players will be able to create, customise and share their own raider online, as well as recruit mercenary Vikings designed by others.

The brief description of the online feature ends with “sit back and reap the rewards when they fight alongside your friends in their game worlds,” suggesting you might receive items for every time your custom mercenary is used by someone else.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla launches on November 10th.
