She shared it on Instagram with a lengthy caption, writing: ‘I’m still stunned that a moment of natural exuberance and joy, became some sort of a symbol for women supporting other women.

‘@erin.gallag.her highlighted it with her gorgeous post and word anthem of support and somehow from Tuesday night to Friday night it became a T-shirt that was left outside my home with a dozen everything bagels from my @everythingeverywheremovie family. I was COVID sleeping and today after my shower I proudly wear it.

‘#FRIENDSSUPPORTINGFRIENDS is a perfect squad goal for 2033 Thank you Erin and all who are expanding it and amplifying the message and CONGRATULATIONS @michelleyeoh_official YOU ARE EVERYTHING EVERYWHERE ALL AT ONCE!’

Michelle was honoured for her performance as Evelyn Wang in the film, while Jamie was also nominated for her role as Deirdre for Best Supporting Actress In A Motion Picture.

Speaking on the red carpet before the awards, Jamie told Variety that it was Michelle’s casting in the film that motivated her to sign up.

She recalled: ‘My agent said to me, “you know, it’s pretty out there”, and I was like, “yeah, but Michelle Yeoh is going to be in the movie, right?”. And he said “yes”, and I said, “yeah, I’ll do it”.’

She added: ‘The movie itself was less important to me, it was important that I understood who Deirdre was and I understood who Evelyn was, and their relationship and their love story.’

It comes after Jamie was struck down with Covid-19 and is currently in quarantine.

The actress announced the news on social media on Friday, writing: ‘F**k COVID!’

The icon added that this means she will have to miss Sunday’s Critics Choice Awards where she is nominated for Best Supporting Actress.

She wrote, ‘Sadly, this head cheerleader is not going to be at all the weekend festivities cheering on her friends and colleagues. Life on life’s terms.’

Jamie shared a photo of three different home tests she had taken, each with the same positive result.

‘I’m glad that there are all these home tests available so that I didn’t go to the American Film Institute lunch and spread my germs. I was SO looking forward to going to the Bafta tea and the Critics Choice awards as a nominee and member of a motley crew! I’m so proud of these people, and I look forward to cheering them on through my TV set. Stay safe out there people.’
