Jennifer Garner dubs herself ‘Farmer Jen’ while out with son Samuel

Jennifer Garner showcased her love of farming on Sunday as she donned a ‘Farmer Jen’ T-shirt to attend her son Samuel’s basketball game.

The mother of three, 51, was seen with her son, 11, who she shares with ex-husband Ben Affleck while clad in black leggings and a gray t-shirt that read: ‘hug a farmer’ on the front and ‘Farmer Jen’ on the back.

Rounding out her look, Garner donned a baseball cap over her long brown locks and dark sunglasses.

Sam wore black shorts, a purple sleeveless jersey, and blue sneakers, and a backpack full of his essentials over his shoulders.

Garner and ex-husband Ben Affleck try to be hands on parents as much as possible, despite their busy schedules as A-list actors.

Farmer Jen: The t-shirt read: 'Farmer Jen' on the backside; a moniker she has earned with all the time she has spent on her farm in the small northeast Oklahoma town of Locust Grove

Her time has become even more valuable now that she become a co-founder of an organic baby food company called Once Upon A Farm.

She actually uses her family’s old farm in Oklahoma to help supply the company with some of its fruits and vegetables.

With all the time she puts into the farm, working the land, Garner has truly earned that ‘Farmer Jen’ moniker.

The farm, which is near the small northeast Oklahoma town of Locust Grove, has been in her family for nearly a century.

Garner’s grandparents bought the 20-acre plot of land that came complete with a two-room house with no electricity, no running water and no indoor plumbing, for $700 in 1936, according to Southern Living.

Her grandparents, on her mother’s side, added another 35 acres to the farm and grew all kinds of fruits and vegetables, including lettuce, beets, green beans, tomatoes, English peas, cucumbers, onions and new potatoes, among others.

Hands on: The mother of three, whom she shares with ex-husband Ben Affleck, gave her boy a lesson in parking meter rules and regulations, which can be tricky

Gettin' around: Garner lives with Samuel, and daughter Violet, 17, and Seraphina, 14, at their sprawling home in the Brentwood area of Los Angeles, when she not on her farm in Oklahoma

It would end up changing hands within the family a couple of times over the years, until ultimately Garner took it over from her Uncle Robert with the stipulation that he and his wife Janet would remain, maintain the farm, and live in the modern house they built on the land.

Launched in 2015, Cassandra Curtis founded Once Upon A Farm along with Ari Raz ‘to create more nutritious, convenient, and delicious baby food options for her daughter that weren’t available in her local supermarket,’ according to the company’s website.

After creating her own recipes and selling the first cold-pressed baby food at retail, she joined forces with industry legend and former Annie’s CEO John Forake and Garner.

Fast forward some eight years and Once Upon A Farm now boasts to being ‘sold in more than 13,000 stores nationwide with a growing product portfolio of organic, farm-fresh snacks and meals for babies and big kids.’

While Farmer Jen has been open about calling her family farm her ‘favorite place’ to be on her social media platforms, she still has her day job as an actress.

Back to set: The actress returns to day job as an actress and is set to star in the comedy film Family Switch, which drops on Netflix on November 30

In fact, she is set to star in the new comedy film Family Switch, which she stars alongside Ed Helms, Emma Myers, Brady Noon and Rita Moreno, among others.

Three days earlier, she took to her Instagram page to promote her latest role in a film that being directed by McG (born Joseph McGinty Nichol), 55.

‘I love every human and dog in this cast, even when they mix and match body and soul. We can’t wait to share #FamilySwitch with all of you on @netflix, November 30th,’ she gushed in the caption.

Family Switch is based on the 2010 children’s book Bedtime For Mommy by Amy Krouse Rosenthal.
