Jennifer Lopez announces a new album: This Is Me… Now which is a follow up to her 2002 album Then Is Me… Then – after Instagram black out

  • On Wednesday morning her 226M followers saw absolutely nothing
  • And the wife of Ben Affleck was no longer seen in her profile photo
  • Instead there was only a black circle on the page with no image of her at all

Jennifer Lopez made a big announcement on Friday morning. The 53-year-old artist is coming out with a new album called This Is Me… Now.

It will be a follow up to the performer’s 2002 album This Is Me… Then which featured the hit song Jenny From The Block.

Both tie in with Ben Affleck: This Is Me… Then was made when JLo was engaged to the Oscar-winning Argo actor. And This Is Me… Now has been created after she got back together with the star and wed him.

She also shared images from the old album and new album to show how she has changed.

In the old album cover she had on pink with a cap.

And on the new album cover the star wore a white bustier that revealed her toned tummy, adding black leather slacks and a matching jacket that falls off her shoulders.

Her hair is a dark chocolate brown and is worn down over her shoulders as she models a heavy nude gloss on her lips.

Earlier this week Lopez went dark: the star had taken all of her old Instagram posts off her page.

On Wednesday morning her 226M followers saw absolutely nothing from the singer whose handle is her nickname JLo.

Her profile photo was only a black circle.

J. Lo’s Twitter and TikTok accounts also have the black circle instead of a picture of her face. But on those platforms her posts have not been taken down.  She has 45.5 million Twitter followers. And Lopez also has 15.4 million TikTok followers.

Fans correctly guessed she was about to make a major announcement.

This comes after Lopez said taking her husband Ben Affleck’s surname is a ‘power move’.

The singer added the move has made her ‘proud’ and said it reaffirmed her feelings she is in full control of her life.

She made the statements in a cover interview with the December issue of Vogue magazine after she and Ben, 50, married in Las Vegas in July before throwing another wedding extravaganza that lasted three days at her new husband’s $8.9 million estate in Georgia.

Jennifer said: ‘People are still going to call me Jennifer Lopez. But my legal name will be Mrs Affleck because we’re joined together. We’re husband and wife. I’m proud of that.

‘I don’t think that’s a problem… it’s not traditional. It doesn’t have any romance to it. It feels like it’s a power move, you know what I mean?

‘I’m very much in control of my own life and destiny and feel empowered as a woman and as a person. I can understand that people have their feelings about it, and that’s okay, too.

‘But if you want to know how I feel about it, I just feel like it’s romantic. It still carries tradition and romance to me, and maybe I’m just that kind of girl.’

Jennifer and Ben, dubbed Bennifer, first dated between 2002 and 2004, with the pair marrying other partners during their subsequent two-decade break.

Ben wed actress Jennifer Garner, 50, with the couple sharing children Violet, 16, Seraphina, 13, and Samuel, 10, but splitting in 2018.

Jennifer married actor Marc Anthony, 54, in 2005 and three years later they had twins Emme and Max, 14, before divorcing in 2014.

Jennifer added to Vogue about her and Ben’s initial romance: ‘We were so young and so in love at that time, really very carefree, with no kids, no attachments.

‘And we were just living our lives, being happy and out there. It didn’t feel like we needed to hide from anybody or be real discreet.

‘We were just living out loud, and it turned out to really bite us. There was a lot underneath the surface there, people not wanting us to be together, people thinking I wasn’t the right person for him.

‘I became very guarded because I realised that they will fillet you. I really wish I could say more. I used to be like that. I am like that. But I’ve also learned.’

Vogue’s December 2022 issue is available on newsstands nationwide on 15 November and for the full interview with Jennifer visit vogue.com.
