As serialised in The Sun, Phillipa wrote in the tome: ‘My working life was a decadent, never-ending world tour with Top Gear Live in private jets, helicopters and superyachts.

‘On one of my first dinners with Jeremy, he claimed to have turned down Madonna to spend the evening with me.

‘It proved to be true because Clarkson has a social life with some of the most powerful, famous and wealthy people in the world.

‘Once we were officially a couple we spent weekends at country estates, partied and holidayed with media moguls and members of parliament, including prime ministers, film stars, pop stars, lords and ladies – even royalty.’

Phillipa wrote that she was delighted to be accepted into Jeremy’s ‘extraordinary’ world, with their union leading her to spend time with Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz.

Jeremy’s former flame described the moment she met the Hollywood heavyweights, with Jeremy unable to decide how to introduce her.

Fumbling for words – ‘girlfriend, partner or whatever’ – Phillipa stepped in and introduced herself as his mother, prompting Tom and Cameron to burst into laughter.

Phillpa described Tom as a ‘legend’ after he launched into action when a gazebo at the event was whipped into the air by the wind.

She said the actor threw himself towards the tent and grabbed it before it took off, describing the ‘heroic task’ as Tom’s ‘hero moment’ that day.

Phillipa went on to describe the moment Jeremy took her to a party in a private room at a bar in London’s Shoreditch.

She said ‘his lordship’ Jeremy was deeply unimpressed after they were served up drinks in plastic cups in the poorly lit room.

The then-PA explained how Jeremy found a door linking their room to another private room next door, with the pair entering to find themselves at a party for Simon Pegg and Nick Frost’s production company.

Simon and Nick’s room had a bowling alley and Phillipa said Jeremy was delighted before she started to win the game, prompting Jeremy to whisk her off home.

The following year, Phillipa and Jeremy attended The One Show’s festive evening out where they were joined by radio host Chris Evans.

Phillipa said Chris bought the couple some ‘delicious-looking chocolatey-coloured cocktails, espresso martinis’.

A day later she went searching for a lip gloss in her handbag only to find she’d vomited inside in a bid to keep the taxi they’d travelled home from the party in clean.

Phillipa also touched on Jeremy’s huge farm in the Cotswolds, the subject of his television show Clarkson’s Farm.

She said Jeremy was excited at the prospect of becoming a working farmer but she had reservations about living on the sprawling property alone, adding that Jeremy was happy along as he had his ‘brown food’ – pies, sausages, beef and bread – and his motorised toys in the form of the farm’s tractors and machinery.

Phillipa explained how the one-time couple never had any warm water on the farm so they couldn’t have warm showers.

She concluded: ‘If anyone could get away with going to a high-society summer party looking as if he’d just survived Armageddon, Jeremy could.’
