‘This is meant to be… our lives are over!’ I’m A Celebrity’s Jill Scott details near-death experience on plane with Lionesses during the 2019 World Cup

Footballer Jill Scott recently revealed she experienced a near-death experience on a plane with her fellow Lionesses during the 2019 World Cup

The I’m A Celebrity star, 35, claimed the jet started to nose-dive while on the way to France, which prompted her teammates to frantically call their loved ones to say goodbye.

However, Jill hilariously added she had been too busy to realise the extent of their danger as she was listening to music with current England captain Leah Williamson.

She told The Mirror before going into the jungle: ‘All of our heads went up. At the time we were listening to music and were talking about a James Morrison song [Love is Hard].

‘Out of 3,000 songs [on Leah’s iPod, which was on shuffle] that song actually came on next, then that plane thing happened and I thought, “This is meant to be, our lives are over.”

‘But to be fair, when that happened to the plane, I actually didn’t get scared because I was listening to the song. Everyone was texting home and ringing home on the plane. It was so bad. We were just like, [singing] ‘Love is hard, if it was easy it wouldn’t mean nothing.’

‘People were being sick. We had a lot of flights that trip but after that one of the staff members didn’t fly [again]. I am forever grateful to Leah for that moment.’

Jill insisted the encounter was worse that ‘an air pocket’ and that the pilot claimed it had ‘never happened to him in 30 years’.

During Sunday’s episode of I’m A Celebrity, Jill and Mike Tindall managed to bag all ten stars in the latest Bushtucker Trial which saw them have to drink disgusting drinks in return for camp meals.

The former rugby pro, 44, and ex England Lioness nominated themselves after learning it was up to the celebrities themselves to decide who would head up to the trial clearing.

And when their fellow campmates wished them the best of luck, they were already confident that the two athletes would come back with a full house – and they did just that.

Mike in the Bush Telegraph said: ‘At the moment I am leader of the camp, but at the moment I haven’t done any Trials and I feel that I want to contribute a bit more.’

Chris said: ‘I’m not massively keen,’ and Seann similarly added: ‘Absolutely not. No way, count me out… I want nothing to do with it.’

Owen, in the Bush Telegraph, said: ‘These are two of our finest former athletes, we’ve got 10 stars baby, I’m already celebrating.’

Arriving at the Trial, Mike and Jill went into a phonebox. They had to dial a code and then that opened the door to let them into the bar.’

Ant told Jill and Mike: ‘Hi, you found our secret hideaway, come on in and take a seat. This is our speak easy, so shh, keep it among yourselves.’

Explaining the Trial, Dec said: ‘This is The Speak Uneasy.. in here, there are 10 drinks on offer. Each one of them is worth a star, you’ll have five drinks each. You can pass on a drink, but you can’t go back to it and you’ll lose that star.’

Ant added: ‘If it’s deemed you’ve deliberately dribbled, or spilled your drink, you’ll lose that star and you can’t attempt to drink it again.’

Among the drinks Mike faces blended cockroaches and blended vomit fruit.

While he drank Jill joked: ‘Let’s pretend we’re in a bar. So do you come here often? Yeah, it’s a good date this.’

Jill faced amongst others blended fish eyes and blended snails.

While drinking blended goat’s testicle, Jill said: ‘Agh it’s got hairs in it! Could have had a wax before. That was disgusting. That was horrendous.’

After having blended pig’s penis, Mike said: ‘That is horrendous after. Urg, hello, you repeat!’

Winning all 10 stars, the pair returned to camp triumphant.

Jill said: ‘I’m so glad we’re taking 10 stars back but I don’t think I’ll even want the meal!’

Mike said: ‘There’s something going on inside my stomach that isn’t good.’

Jill told camp: ‘Don’t go drinking with Mike Tindall.’
