Johnny Ruffo sparks outpouring of love as he shares new image undergoing cancer treatment in Sydney: ‘Hang in there mate’

A new photo of Johnny Ruffo getting treatment for his brain cancer has prompted an outpouring of love from fans and followers.

The 34-year-old Home and Away actor shared a photograph and video of himself sleeping on a hospital bed during a recent chemotherapy session.

‘Catching up on some zzz’s whilst getting my chemo today,’ he wrote.

His girlfriend, Tahnee Sims, posted three angel emojis beneath the post.

The singer recently told Nova’s Ryan ‘Fitzy’ Fitzgerald and Michael ‘Wippa’ Wipfli he was angry when he learnt he had the disease.

‘There’s so many mixed emotions,’ Johnny recalled in a heartbreaking interview last month.

Johnny was first diagnosed with brain cancer in 2017 after he went to hospital with painful migraines.

In August of the same year, he had a 7cm brain tumour surgically removed, before undergoing chemotherapy and radiotherapy. 

During the emotional interview, Wippa asked the X-Factor star whether he felt ‘pi**ed off’ once he heard the verdict from the doctors. 

Johnny replied after a very long pause: ‘Yeah, I think so.’

He added he also had feelings of sadness over his recent terminal cancer diagnosis.

‘There’s so many feelings that are just balled up,’ he said.

Elsewhere in the chat, Johnny spoke of his love for his girlfriend Tahnee Sims.

‘We find the goodness and the joy in every little moment we can,’ he said.

Johnny bravely told Fitzy and Wippa he was using his sense of humour to get through the challenges ahead and aimed to stay strong and follow doctor’s orders.    

The gifted performer has made no secret of the level of support Tahnee has given him, even crediting her for ‘saving’ his life in a WHO magazine interview. 

Johnny and Tahnee first met at a dance studio back in 2015, and they’ve been together since.
