Jonah Hill has filed a petition to legally change his name, dropping Feldstein from his moniker, reports TMZ.

The actor, 38, who was born Jonah Hill Feldstein – but has always gone by his middle name during his career, filed the petition in Los Angeles this week to legally lose family name Feldstein from his name.

The documents state the Academy Award nominee wants the name he has publicly  gone by for years to be his legal name.

Jonah has one sister, actress Beanie Feldstein, whose first names are Elizabeth Greer.

Jonah follows in the footsteps of Aaron Paul, who earlier this month filed a petition to legally change his surname to Paul from Sturtevant and change the first names of his baby son –  reported TMZ.

The Breaking Bad actor, 43, was born Aaron Paul Sturtevant, but adopted his stage name due to his surname being too difficult to pronounce.

Paul and wife Lauren Parsekian, 35, have filed the petition to change their surnames as well as the legal first names of their son Ryden Caspian, 7 months, who is currently legally named Casper Emerson.

The publication reports that Aaron and Lauren detailed how they were required to give a name at the hospital for their son, before changing their minds later on and switching to Ryden.

They also note their reason for filing being that they want to ‘keep the family name consistent’. They are also parents to daughter Story, four.

Dailymail.com has contacted Aaron Paul’s representative for comment.

Paul and Parsekian married in 2013 after meeting at Coachella in 2009. They reunited at the music festival again the following year, and the pair shared their first kiss.

Back in August, Aaron and Breaking Bad co-star Bryan Cranston reprised their iconic roles for a ‘long-anticipated crossover’ on the final season of Better Call Saul

The pair returned as beloved characters Water White and Jesse Pinkman for the sixth season.

A Stan spokesperson said: ‘Bryan and Aaron both won numerous awards for their incredible roles, including Golden Globes and Primetime Emmys, making their inclusion in the final season a must-watch event for Breaking Bad fans.’

Breaking Bad ran on AMC for five seasons from 2008 to 2013.

Bryan’s Walter was a terminally-ill chemistry teacher in New Mexico who made and dealt methamphetamine with his former student Jesse, played by Aaron.

The show received tons of critical acclaim, including 16 Primetime Emmy Awards and two Peabody Awards.

It starred many well-known actors and actresses, including Anna Gunn, RJ Mitte and Bob Odenkirk who played Saul Goodman.

Bob, 59, landed his title spinoff series Better Call Saul, which acts as a prequel to Breaking Bad, in 2015.

Like it’s predecessor, it garnered great critical acclaim as well as numerous awards and nominations including four Golden Globes and nine Critics’ Choice Awards.

The Primetime Emmy Award nominee revealed back in March he was nearly bankrupt before he took on the role of Saul in Breaking Bad.

‘I got a phone call, “They’re gonna offer you a role on Breaking Bad,”‘ which he admitted at the time wasn’t a ‘popular or big show’ coming off its first season.

‘”Don’t say no,” my agent says. I was like, “Dude, I haven’t said no in a year and a half, maybe you didn’t notice that,”‘ Odenkirk joked.

He said he still checked the show out and wanted to know what it was about, adding he called a friend he had been writing with, Reid Harrison, who told him, ‘Oh that’s the best show on TV. You’ve got to do that.’

Odenkirk debuted in the eighth episode of Breaking Bad’s second season when Walter and Jesse hired Saul after Badger (Matt Jones) was arrested by the DEA.
