Kate Winslet cuts a chic figure in a white suit while Eva Longoria dazzles in a plunging pink gown as they attend the L’Oreal Light on Women Award during the Cannes Film Festival
Kate Winslet cut an effortlessly chic figure on Friday as she and Eva Longoria led the stars at the L’Oreal Light on Women Award during the 76th annual Cannes Film Festival.
The actress, 47, looked smart in a sharp white trouser suit which she teamed with a black laser cut top.
The Titanic star boosted her height with pointed black heels while accessorising her look with a black clutch, cream watch and dazzling feather-shaped earrings.
Finishing off her evening look, Kate added a pop of colour with a bold red lip, while her blonde locks were styled in soft waves.
Meanwhile, Eva Longoria amped up the glamour in a plunging off-the-shoulder pink gown.



The Desperate Housewives star, 48, showcased plenty of cleavage in the low-cut sparkling dress, which perfectly hugged her curves
She rounded off her look with sparkling drop earrings, while her brunette tresses were worn in a sleek style.
Elsewhere, Kate was in great spirits as she was seen posing with screen legend Jane Fonda at the event.
The actress, 85, echoed Kate’s style on the night, opting for for a sequinned white blazer and ivory trousers.
Meanwhile, other attendees included Andie MacDowell, who looked radiant in a fuchsia halter neck dress.
Kate serves as president and juror for the award, which sees the winner promoted across L’Oréal’s social channels and the chance to have their film screened by the brand.
In addition, L’Oréal connects the winners with advertising agencies and producers through other events.
While Kate has not taken on the challenge of directing she served as executive producer on Emmy-winning series Mare of Easttown.




Most recently she starred in Channel 4’s I Am Ruth alongside her daughter Mia Threapleton, 22.
In the TV drama I Am Ruth, Kate portrays concerned mother Ruth, who tries to help her teenage daughter Freya, played by Mia, overcome a mental health crisis after becoming consumed by the pressures of social media.
Viewers were quick to praise the pair for their ‘powerful’ performances in the drama when the show aired in December, which they described as an ‘important’ portrayal of mental health and social media.









I Am Ruth follows the success of two previous I Am series, offering distinctive single films exploring the experience of women in moments that are emotionally raw, thought-provoking and personal.
It marked the first time that Kate has worked alongside her daughter.
