A friend of the former Corrie actor told The Sun: ‘Katie is a young woman and loves going out with her pals.
‘But those pictures weren’t great for her look and she was warned against doing anything which could hamper her chances on Strictly.
‘She is totally focused on the show. Instead of partying, Katie has become a gym junkie and is working out three times a week.
‘Katie knows how physically taxing Strictly can be.

It comes after it was reported that BBC producers won’t be pairing Katie with her former flame Giovanni Pernice on the 2021 series.
The former Waterloo Road star and the professional dancer, 30, never made their relationship official but were romantically linked five years ago.

And despite speculation that bosses were keen to match them on the new series, they are now reportedly deciding against it because they don’t want to ‘stoke flames’.
The Sun claims they are trying to avoid starting rumours as Giovanni is now in a relationship with former Love Islander, Maura Higgins, 30.
A source told the publication on Saturday: ‘There’s always speculation about the pairings and how they will impact on relationships. The bosses do not want to stoke flames.’

Katie is believed to be single after separating from her boyfriend Benji Roberts, in 2019.
Maura recently followed Katie – who became known for her role as Sinead Tinker – on Instagram, while pointedly calling the dancer ‘My Man’ in sizzling social media posts.
Katie and Giovanni were linked back in 2017 when it was reported that they’d enjoyed a night out with pals and ‘dinner and the cinema’ date.
