Keke Palmer gets candid as she reveals sex advice from Whoopi Goldberg in new episode of podcast: ‘Start with pleasing yourself’

Keke Palmer revealed in a new episode of her podcast that Whoopi Goldberg once told her to start ‘pleasing’ herself.

The 29-year-old Nope actress shared the salacious bit of advice during a candid discussion about sexuality in the latest episode of Baby, This Is Keke Palmer.

The episode’s title asked the question Has P–n Ruined Sex? and the subsequent conversation between Keke and sex therapist Dr. Kate Balestri resulted in some candid revelations about Palmer’s sexual history.

Palmer shared that her ‘identity with sex’ has always been based on the feeling that she’s ‘just gotta do this service.’

The Emmy winner went on to say that ‘any enjoyment’ she received sexually during a certain time period in her adult life came from a place of ‘I’m glad they’re happy.’

But that relationship with sex and sexual gratification eventually became ‘depressing and not enough,’ leading Palmer on ‘a journey of trying to figure out what works for [her].’

‘I’ll never forget,’ the Hustlers star said, ‘I was on The View one time, and they were having a conversation about sex, a really great conversation, and Whoopi Goldberg said, ‘please just – start with pleasing yourself.’ And I was like, ‘that rings true.’’

In addition to revealing the sex advice she received from the 67-year-old comedy legend, Palmer – who recently confessed that she likes ‘girl-on-girl’ porn – talked about having a ‘happy ending.’

‘I’ve only ever had an actual happy ending from a more demure, a calmer, a more emotional approach,’ she said.

It’s been a revelatory past few weeks for Palmer as she recently graced the cover of THR and reflected on the struggles of growing up in the spotlight as a child star.

The actress – who drew rave reviews for her breakout performance as an 11-year-old spelling prodigy in 2006’s Akeelah and the Bee – admitted that being a household name came with many challenges during her interview with THR

‘For the people who think that a normal childhood is overrated,’ said Keke, ‘nothing’s overrated if you didn’t have it.’

The pressure only grew more intense for Palmer after she landed her very own Nickelodeon series True Jackson, VP, in 2008.

While recalling her decision to accept a week-long Nickelodeon cruise for her entire family back in 2009, in exchange for a few hours signing autographs, the singer said the stress from her voyage caused her to faint ‘from anxiety.’

‘I couldn’t leave my room without someone coming up to me calling me True Jackson. What you are, to everyone, is just a character… just part of their experience.’

Perhaps more revelations are on the way as Palmer gears up to host Saturday Night Live in December.
