Kevin Hart has been released from hospital.
The comedian was forced to undergo surgery on his back after fracturing it in three places during a horror crash that saw his car veer off the road and into a ditch.
He has been in hospital for the last 10 days and is expected to make a full recovery, with TMZ reporting that Kevin has now been moved to a ‘live-in rehab facility’ to continue treatment.
Sources told the publication that Kevin is ‘glad’ to be out of hospital and ‘glad to be alive’. They claim that Kevin could be in the facility for around a week, with the goal being to get him home ‘as soon as possible’ and start outpatient care.
Metro.co.uk have reached out to Kevin’s rep.
Kevin’s release comes as reports claimed the Get Hard star will have to wear a back brace and need ’round the clock care’.
The Blast claims Kevin is walking again after his surgery, but will need at least four months off from work before he can head back to set.
Kevin required emergency surgery to fuse the fractures in his back, two of which are in the thoracic region of the spine and one in the lumbar region.
It was recently claimed that Kevin’s injuries could have been prevented had the car, which he bought for himself as a 40th birthday present, not been lacking key safety features.
The accident meant Kevin was forced to miss an appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show, where his good friend Dwayne Johnson stepped in to replace him – cutting his honeymoon short.
Sharing an update on Kevin’s condition, Dwayne revealed on the show: ‘Everything is good, I spoke with Kevin, I actually refer to him as my son. I connected with him today.
‘And you know what? These things happen in life and thankfully he was strapped in nicely to his car seat.’
Dwayne said: ‘I love the guy, he’s one of my best friends. And honestly, I mean, thank God, it could’ve been a lot worse.
‘So, he’s a lucky man, and he knows it too. I wish him the best and a speedy recovery and I’m gonna see him soon.’
