Kylie Minogue, 55, turns heads in a blue pvc suit as she takes to the stage at Radio 2’s In The Park festival in Leicester
It was the singer’s first full UK concert in four years, and Kylie didn’t disappoint as she brought the glitz, glam and Padam Padam to Leicester.
She stood out in a blue pvc suit with a black skintight latex top and matching boots.
kylie, 55, was surrounded by an army of dancers as she belted out iconic tracks such as Spinning Around, which was her opening number on the night, and On A Night Like This.
She also sang a string of songs from her forthcoming album Tension, including her recent dance hit Padam Padam.
The star, who had her trademark blonde locks down and lashing of red lipstick, will see Tension as her 16th studio album, which will be released on September 22.
Thanks to Padam Padam, Ms Minogue has had a spectacular comeback as the track reached the top of the UK charts, giving the singer her first No 1 in over a decade.
The former Neighbours actress, who closed the two-day festival, which saw the likes of James Blunt and Tick Astley perform at Leicester’s Victoria Park, is also set to kick off a string of Las Vegas gigs.
In July she announced she will be doing her first residency in Vegas – a three-month stint at the Venetian’s Voltaire nightclub from November.
It will be her first professional return to North America since 2011.
‘I’ve performed a couple of times at Vegas, but as part of a tour, and particularly when I did the Showgirl tour in 2004 – at that time we said, ‘oh, this feels like a Vegas show’, she said at an LA news conference.
‘I want it to be the kind of essence of what a Kylie show has become, enough glamour and abandon.’
In a surprise outfit change, Kylie switched into a red one-shouldered mesh ensemble paird with red over the knee boots and a maroon glove.
Returning for the first time since the pandemic – after it was suspended in 2022 following the death of Queen Elizabeth II – the festival was held on Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 September.
After the full lineup was revealed on The Zoe Ball Breakfast Show on Tuesday June 13, Kylie Minogue said: ‘Over the years I’ve done many unique and varied performances for BBC Radio 2. I’m so excited to be headlining Radio 2 in the Park in Leicester later this year.
‘I can’t wait to celebrate with you all, see you September 17th!’
As well as pop icon Minogue, Bananarama, Rick Astley, Sam Ryder and Tears for Fears were among the household names performing.
James Blunt and Simply Red also feature, in what will be the pair’s only appearance of the UK festival season in 2023.
It comes after Kylie looked radiant as she arrived at the London Fashion Week opening party on Friday night after admitting that she she ‘feels at home’ when acting.
The singer wore a figure-hugging mesh dress, with pink graphic swirls and a ruched seam down the centre.
She topped her look off with a pair of thigh-high leather boots and opaque stockings.
It’s been a busy week for the actress who also appeared on The One Show to talk about her new album, Tension, and teased a return to the screen.
Speaking on the show, Kylie, who is making a return to the small screen with a television special that will highlight her legendary career on ITV, admitted that she still ‘loves acting.’
She explained: ‘I love acting, I love when I get the opportunity to get on set.
‘I don’t do it so often so it’s a good nose but at the same time I feel like I’m home, this was my start and I spent years and years and years on TV sets, so TV and films, love them.’
Discussing her new album Kylie revealed she spent hours recording in her home studio.
She added: ‘A lot of it was in my studio, my little case with all my gear which I learned to do in lockdown. Amazing skill to finally have.
‘Bedside tables in hotel rooms, literally anywhere – if the vocals had to be done I would set my gear up. I love it.
‘I was recording one evening until I heard birds through the mic – I thought ‘what time is it? 5am – Shut it down.’ And I’ll think? ‘I’ll just do one more, just do one more.’ I can totally get in the zone.’
Kylie is making a return to the small screen with a television special that will highlight her legendary career on ITV.
