Lady Victoria Hervey risked breaking the strict dress code at Ascot Ladies Day as she attended the glamorous event on Thursday while actress Ellie Bamber wowed in a white dress. 

Socialite Lady Victoria, 45, revealed her physique as she went braless in a sheer white shirt while posing.

Style guides for the racing event – that is usually attended by the Queen – specify that dresses and tops with sheer sections, straps and sleeves are not permitted.

Lady Victoria teamed her daring blouse with an oversized white suit jacket and wide leg trousers as she posed up a storm. 

 She completed her look with a huge white hat and wore her blonde tresses in loose curls while opting for a bronzed makeup look.

Racegoers showed off their finery as they arrived for day three of Royal Ascot today, amid rumours Her Majesty may make an appearance.

Guests were snapped wearing outfit boasting a rainbow of colours, as they made the most of the sunshine during Ladies Day.

The five-day society favourite event has returned to its pre-pandemic extravagance, after restrictions meant it was subdued in 2020 and 2021.

And so far, attendees have shown their appreciation for the races’ return, donning high fashion finery and some show-stopping millinery for their big days out.

The British royal family has been out in force this week, with the Prince of Wales, 73, and Duchess of Cornwall, 74, Princess Anne, 71, The Earl and Countess of Wessex, and Princess Beatrice, 33, and Edoardo Mapelli-Mozzi, 38, all attending.

But the Queen, 96, who has been at every Royal Meeting since acceding to the throne in 1952, apart from when it was held behind closed doors in 2020, missed the first two days, amid her ongoing mobility issues. 

As they awaited the potential arrival of the monarch, bookies offered odds on what colours she may be wearing.

Ladies Day dress code at Ascot  

  • Dresses and skirts should be of modest length defined as falling just above the knee or longer.
  • Dresses and tops should have straps of one inch or greater. Strapless, off the shoulder, halter neck and spaghetti straps are not permitted. Dresses and tops with sheer straps and sleeves are also not permitted. 
  • Jackets and pashminas may be worn. Tops and dresses underneath should still comply with the Royal Enclosure Dress Code. Midriffs must be covered.
  • Trouser suits are welcome. They should be of full-length to the ankle and of matching material and colour.
  • Jumpsuits are welcome. They should fall below the knee, with regulations matching that for dresses and tops.
  • Hats should be worn; however, a headpiece which has a solid base of 4 inches (10cm) or more in diameter is acceptable as an alternative to a hat. Fascinators are not permitted.
