Lance Bass reunites with his NSYNC bandmates (except Justin Timberlake) for TikTok FaceTime prank

Lance Bass reunited with his NSYNC bandmates on TikTok this week, calling each of them up one at a time for a popular FaceTime prank.

But while Joey Fatone, Chris Kirkpatrick, and even JC Chasez answered when Lance called, Justin Timberlake — who broke up the group to start his solo career in 2002 — declined to pick up.

The nostalgic video thrilled NSYNC fans, but when many shared that they weren’t surprised that Justin wouldn’t participate, Lance agreed with them.

On Wednesday, Lance posted a video of himself doing a popular TikTok prank in which the prankster FaceTimes friends — but when the friends pick up, they insist they’re too busy to talk and hang up.

Makeup artist James Charles previously tried the ‘I’m Busy’ challenge on an unsuspecting Kris Jenner and Jojo Siwa, among others.

In Lance’s video, he first called Chris, who gamely answered the phone even while out with a mask on.

But Lance quickly shut things down, telling him, ‘Oh my god I’m so sorry, I’m so busy right now. I can’t talk, but can you call me later?’

‘You just FaceTimed me,’ Chris responded, confused, before Lance hung up.

Next Lance called Joey, but when his former bandmate and longtime friend picked up, he told him, ‘Look, I cannot speak right now, I’m so busy. Can I call you back later? Actually, call me back later.’

Joey also looked confused, furrowing his brow before the screen went dark.

While several members of NSYNC have reunited over the years — and Lance and Joey have recently been collaborating with Nick Carter and AJ McLean of the Backstreet Boys — Justin has rarely joined them.

So fans weren’t surprised that he was the only NSYNCer not to pick up.

‘Of course Justin didn’t answer,’ wrote one.

Justin has missed out on band reunions before, including a virtual birthday for Lance last year.

The last time all five were pictured together was 2018, when they received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Prior to that, Lance, JC, Joey, and Chris joined Justin on stage briefly for an MTV VMA performance in 2013.

Lance also had all four of his bandmates on his podcast — individually — to celebrate the 20th anniversary of No Strings Attached last year.

Last month, Backstreet Boys and NSYNC fans were sent into a frenzy when members of both groups joined forces to sing and dance to some of their hits on TikTok.

Backstreet Boys’ AJ McLean and Nick Carter joined NSYNC’s Lance and Joey to form the new act, Back-SYNC.

In one video, they executed the choreography to the NSYNC song Bye, Bye, Bye — initially released in 2000 — with all four doing the moves and singing the lyrics.

In another clip, they sang the BSB song I Want it That Way, with Joey and Lance taking lead on vocals.

Fans were surprised and dazzled by the clips, with one writing: ‘Nick, AJ, Lance and Joey look great. Lovely to see them.’

‘Fans still want a Backstreet/NSYNC tour, but it’s got to be all 10 of us,’ AJ told Variety.

‘It’s the only way to make it work, so I think he’d be sleeping on it if he didn’t do it, but he’s a dad [Nick] doing his thing and I completely respect that. This four is a dream team right now.’

The squad also amazed their starstruck followers when they performed together at The Grove in Los Angeles for Gay Pride.
