Team GB’s Heather Watson will be first in the stadium, playing against Germany’s Jule Niemeier – and later world number one Novak Djokovic will take to the hallowed grass against Tim van Rijthoven from the Netherlands.
They will be watched by royal box spectators including Sir Cliff Richard and Brian Cox.
The box had been due to host Harry Potter author JK Rowling, but she pulled out last minute on Sunday morning because her companion, former tennis player Martina Navratilova, had contracted Covid, according to the All England Lawn Tennis Club (AELTC).
