The Amazon founder, 59, unveiled his 416ft love boat, which is the tallest sailing yacht in the world, earlier this year.
Eagle-eyed fans were quick to point out that the sculpture that sits on the prow of the $500 million vessel bears a striking resemblance to his glamorous wife-to-be.
But the mother-of-three, 53, has since denied that it was modelled on her likeness and instead revealed who it was really fashioned on.
She went on to discuss the inspiration behind the polished wooden idol that adorns Bezos’ boat, which he named Koru – a Maori word which translates to ‘new beginnings.’
The curvaceous carving, dressed in a flowing gown and with long hair, shares more than a few similarities to Lauren.
But she has now dismissed the speculation that she inspired the design.
‘I’m very flattered, but it’s not,’ the media personality told the publication.
She instead divulged that the sculpture was in fact based on one of her fiancé’s favorite mythological figures – Freyja, the Norse goddess of love, fertility, war and gold.
‘If it was me…’ Sánchez joked as she made a gesture of having a much larger bust.
Bezos had originally commissioned the ship more than five years ago.
Known then as ‘Project 721’, the ship was built in the historic port of Zwijndrecht, close to Rotterham in the Netherlands, by sailboat specialists Oceanco.
The Koru, which underwent sea trials in February before being handed over to Bezos, is the second largest sailing ship in the world – surpassed only by the Philippe Starcke designed Sailing Yacht A, which is owned by Russian fertilizer billionaire Andrey Melnichenko.
Last year, before Koru had even been launched, the vast size of her masts sparked an international controversy when Rotterdam announced that the middle section of the 100-year-old Koningshaven Bridge would be removed so the superyacht could make its way into the North Sea.
According to reports, Bezos had said he would pay to have the bridge dismantled and rebuilt again – but his request was refused.
Elsewhere in the interview, Lauren opened up about her engagement to the billionaire businessman.
She revealed that she ‘blacked out’ when she saw her huge pink-diamond ring when her beau asked her to marry him back in May at sea after they enjoyed a dinner for two under the stars.
Having only been engaged for five months, the couple was still in the throes of deciding on what kind of wedding they’d have.
‘We’re still thinking about the wedding, what it’s going to be. Is it going to be big? Is it going to be overseas? We don’t know yet,’ Lauren dished, adding she was more focused on Jeff’s 60th birthday party in January.
