Leonardo DiCaprio has picked up the opportunity to ‘create a television series based on Aldous Huxley’s Island.’

The Wolf Of Wall Street star has reportedly been developing the author’s final novel alongside In Good Company Films, according to Variety.

Island was published in 1962 and is the counterpart to the dystopian novel Brave New World.

The showrunner, David Wiener, recently discussed how struck he was by how visionary the 1932 book was.

‘Huxley obviously foresaw a lot of what we would do with technology,’ he told Deadline.

‘But the one thing that he probably couldn’t foresee was how far we would go in terms of the information revolution and social media, and those things seem to be like a very natural extension of exactly what Huxley was warning us against.’

The series stars Game of Thrones’ Harry Lloyd, Downton Abbey’s Jessica Brown Findlay, Demi Moore and Solo: A Star Wars Story’s Alden Ehrenreich.
