Emergency services are racing to the scene of a light plane crash off the Queensland coast.
Queensland Ambulance confirmed that paramedics and two rescue helicopters are responding to assist occupants after a light aircraft plummeted into the ocean near the Barwon Banks reef off Maroochydore on the Sunshine Coast around 9am on Friday.
Two people have been spotted in the water clinging to a life raft near the crash site.
Their conditions are currently unknown, a spokesman said.

Queensland Police confirmed emergency responders are on scene, including officers from the Sunshine Coast water patrol.
‘No other information is available at this stage,’ a spokeswoman said.
The plane is believed to be a Cessna aircraft.
