Love Island’s Andrew Le Page is branded ‘son-in-law material’ by girlfriend Tasha Ghouri’s dad after heartfelt speech about her cochlear implant

They were the first of this year’s pairings to become official boyfriend and girlfriend.

And now, Love Island‘s Andrew Le Page has been branded ‘son-in-law material’ by dancer Tasha Ghouri‘s dad Tarek, on Twitter.

The real estate agent, 27, impressed his potential future father-in-law by the way he described his 23-year old Tasha’s cochlear implant – which allows her to hear – during the baby challenge.

Tasha and Andrew were among the five remaining couples given the responsibility of having to look after one of the baby dolls earlier this week, and took it completely in their stride.

At one point when he was alone with ‘baby Leo,’ Andrew opened up to the doll about Tasha’s ‘superpower’ in heartwarming scenes.

A fan of the show tweeted: ‘Any man can be a father. But Andrew and Davide are DADDIES #LoveIsland,’ with Tasha’s dad response containing huge praise for his daughter’s boyfriend.

Tarek wrote on Twitter: ‘Andrew is looking more and more like son in law material. The fire pit is very special…

‘Your mum told me about her super power, her super power being that she has an implant that makes her able to hear. She’s very, very special and very, very brave and with this implant.’

Tarek recently insisted that he believes that Tasha and Andrew’s connection is ‘real.’

He tweeted: ‘It’s real. It was from the start. My girl is a slow burner on love but when she knows she knows

Andrew and Tasha have had an up and down time in the villa, being put up for several dumpings, and they both came back with different partners after Casa Amor.

But the couple have not only survived and recoupled, they became boyfriend and girlfriend and are now second favourites to win this year’s series.

However, the pair have a tough ask to win this year’s finale, which airs on Monday (01.08.22), due to Davide Sanclimenti and Ekin-Su Culculoglu being hot favourites to take home the show’s £50,000 prize.

Tarek recently revealed he put a ‘letter of support’ in Tasha’s bag before she left for Love Island, and admitted he had been ‘blown away’ by how well she has ‘conducted herself’ on the show.

He said: ‘She does have a letter in her bag from me that she can get out at any time during the show when she needs some support, and if she needs it she will pull it out, for sure. I am blown away with how she’s conducted herself – she’s conducted herself in such a good way.

‘The way she approached her hearing and explained to people about the cochlear implant was absolutely fantastic and a big moment of pride for me.’

During her introduction on the show, the dancer described her disability as a ‘superpower’ and Tarek gushed about how proud he is of Tasha for accepting herself and speaking up for others.

Love Island airs at 9pm on ITV2 and ITV Hub.
