‘[If my future girlfriend can cook] it would be a bonus, but I would like to learn to cook myself so that way she doesn’t have to do all the cooking,’ Michael exclusively told Daily Mail Australia on Thursday.

‘Because, like they say, every woman likes a man that knows how to cook. And that’s one less thing that i’ll be embarrassed about,’ he added.

As part of his collaboration with Bone Apple Tea, Michael will be hosting a live cook-a-long experience at popular the popular Lagoon seafood restaurant in Wollongong.

During the livestream, views will learn alongside Michael as Lagoon chefs demonstrate how to cook their signature king prawns dish.

‘I loved the idea of cooking because I’ve never really learned to cook properly. So I took it as an opportunity for me to learn to cook without having to get my mother to teach me,’ the Wollongong-based star told Daily Mail Australia.

‘Food can bring people together, because you can’t go through life without great food. And it helps people bond as well.’

While Michael may not have a girlfriend to cook for at the moment, he says he’s been growing close to a woman on Instagram over the past nine months.

‘I’m currently talking to someone who’s actually from Canada. It’s still early days so it’s hard to tell at the moment.’
