MAFS: Domenica Calarco claims producers encouraged her behaviour

Married At First Sight’s Domenica Calarco claims producers encouraged her to be outspoken during the show’s heated commitment ceremonies

Domenica Calarco is one of the most outspoken and opinionated brides in Married At First Sight history.

And the 29-year-old has now claimed she and the show’s other participants were all encouraged by producers to speak up at the commitment ceremonies.

Discussing the topic on her podcast Sit With Us, Dom said: ‘They tell you that it’s a group environment where you do need to speak up and talk and speak your mind.’

‘Even though the [relationship] experts are there and are giving their advice, I think some people seem to forget that the commitment ceremonies are this team group forum for all of us to talk about our relationships,’ she added.

Domenica also expressed regret for her controversial glassing incident, telling her co-host Ella Ding that it was a way of her trying to ‘protect herself from being hurt’.

‘I regret smashing the glass with every being in me. And I wish I never did it. Not because of what happened afterwards, but because that is not who I am,’ she said.

‘When it came to going to that level of being so petty, that is when I think the triggering of a lot of my past traumas really started to come out,’ she added.

Despite her aggressive behaviour and feuds with multiple brides on the series, Domenica’s outrageous antics have paid off big time.

The former makeup artist has racked up over 574,000 followers and become a fulltime influencer.

She’s racked up her own collaboration with fast-fashion brand Showpo and posted ads for Go-To Skincare and Stax activewear.

Dom has also teamed up with co-star Ella Ding for their own podcast, Sit With Us.

And rumour has it Channel Nine is ‘desperate’ to keep the outspoken star on the network as her popularity continues to skyrocket.

‘They’re willing to throw some big money at her to get her to sign for Celebrity Apprentice as they know her huge following will bring in ratings,’ a source told Yahoo Lifestyle this week.

Domenica and Ella are the only stars from this year’s season of Married At First Sight to get a coveted invite to the Logie Awards.

They will be joined at this year’s ceremony by Kerry Knight and Johnny Balbuziente, who are the only remaining couple from last year’s season.
