The Married At First Sight cast reunited for a drama-packed dinner party on Wednesday night, with Jay Howard making an emotional solo arrival.
Attending the party, she revealed that she had split from her husband Luke Worley, 30, while fans claim ‘she had a lucky escape.’
Luke was ejected from the series after having a physical fight with co-star Jordan Gayle, 26, and has further angered Channel 4 bosses with his social media posts, forcing Jay, 31, to also leave the show as she couldn’t continue alone.
But their fellow contestants were left in shock when Jay arrived to the dinner party alone as they questioned what had happened.
Responding to Laura and Peggy, the sales manager explained: ‘Luke basically said like that we are better off just being friends.’
She added: ‘I asked him what he wanted and he couldn’t answer the question.
‘I would have preferred to try and make it work. I still have feelings for him but it is what it is.’
Sharing their thoughts on Twitter / X, fans claimed that Jay had ‘dodged a bullet,’ following her split from Luke.
One wrote: ‘Oh Jay 🙁 you deserve so much better,’ as another echoed: ‘Jay deserves much better than Luke tbh.’
‘Jay you’ve had a lucky escape, Luke is a walking talking red flag. I hope she finds a proper man who’s nice and treats her right!’ someone else wrote.
One viewer added: ‘Oh Jay you dodged a bullet.’
Following Luke’s later arrival, the duo suffered an awkward reunion as he went stariht over to the boys for a chat.
Speaking to the producers Jay added: ‘He’s more bothered about other peoples shit than whats going on with me and him.’
It comes after Married At First Sight UK‘s Luke confirmed that he and his wife Jay Howard will be appearing on this week’s hotly-anticipated reunion.
MailOnline then exclusively revealed that Luke had been axed from filming the six-month-on reunion special amid the fallout, while Jay was allowed to join the cast to film earlier this month.
Luke has now taken to Instagram to comment on the ban and confirmed that he will still appear in Wednesday and Thursday’s reunion episodes, despite being axed from another upcoming reunion.
He told how both he and Jay will be back on screens with the rest of the cast this week as the reunion specials were filmed before his axing from the later reunion.
In a video, he said: ‘That isn’t this reunion, this is another reunion I’ve been banned from. This reunion was filmed before and it goes out on Wednesday and Thursday this week, so me and Jay are back on your screens.’
‘You’re going to see what’s happened off-camera and a whole rundown of our relationship,’ he added.
Luke also teased a mysterious big announcement as he told fans he has some big news for them in the coming weeks.
‘Another thing as well, there is some big, big news coming on my side in the next two to three weeks, a huge announcement,’ he said.
After being ejected from MAFS UK for a physical fight with Jordan, Luke has further angered Channel 4 bosses by posting threatening messages towards his rival on social media.
He has also been reprimanded for speaking about his experiences on a celebrity podcast despite cast members being under strict instructions not to reveal show secrets.
MailOnline recently revealed that Luke was told that he wasn’t welcome to take part in the six-months-on special, which was filmed in a secret location in East Sussex earlier this month.
A source told MailOnline: ‘Luke’s relationship with Channel 4 has deteriorated since his axing was aired.
‘Not only did he come to blows with Jordan but he’s also used threatening language towards him on social media, which of course the channel deems unacceptable.
‘Luke has spoken out about his experiences filming the show and no doubt will do so again… the trust between him and Channel 4 has been lost.
‘He doesn’t feel great knowing that the majority of the cast are filming the special and his invite was well and truly retracted but they feel that right now his attitude is too difficult to manage.’
Luke was axed from the series after banging on the door of Jordan’s apartment where he lived with wife Erica Roberts and starting a fight with his co-star.
Luke was furious after discovering that Jordan had spoken badly about him to his wife Jay, claiming that he would be likely to cheat on her if he could get away with it.
Following weeks of tension, Luke saw red and swung for Jordan, who has spoken about his past trauma with domestic violence.
As a result of his aggressive behaviour, Luke was removed from the programme with Channel 4, who have a ‘zero-tolerance policy towards violence’, saying his actions were unacceptable.
Posting on Instagram at the end of October, Luke used the hash tag ‘chat s***, get banged’ in reference to his fight with Jordan, claiming in a post: ‘If you upset my wife, you will know about it.’
In a statement to MailOnline, Channel 4 said: ‘We do not condone any form of violence, or aggressive language, and have raised the matter with the cast member concerned.’
