Maude Apatow seen after being featured in THAT ‘nepo baby’ article

Maude Apatow sits courtside with her producer father Judd at a Los Angeles Lakers game as she is seen for the first time since being featured in THAT ‘nepo baby’ article

Maude Apatow was spotted sitting in courtside seats with her A-list father Judd at a Los Angeles Lakers game after featuring in the New York Magazine nepo baby list.

The term nepo babies was coined online and is used to describe celebrity offspring who land easily in the world of showbiz, cushioned by their parents’ famous names.

Maude – who is the daughter of Hollywood heavyweights Judd and Leslie Mann – was plastered on the front cover and featured among other children of the rich and famous who lucked out in the genetic lottery.

In her first public sighting since the article was published, Maude, 25, sat beside the famous comedian, 55, as they joined a host of other stars at the game.

The Euphoria actress, who portrays Lexi Howard in the HBO hit, oozed daytime glamour at the game, wearing a champagne lace camisole.

She teamed the top with a cream cargo-style skirt and ballet pumps in the same neutral tone, accessorising with a novelty strawberry bag.

Maude wore her brunette locks in 1920s style waves, while opting for a full face of make-up complete with a slick of deep red lipstick.

Meanwhile, Judd kept his look comparatively casual as he sported a green graphic T-shirt with a pair of navy trousers and trainers.

Judd has produced comedy hits including The 40-Year Old Virgin, Knocked Up and This is 40. He also executively-produced comedy-drama, Girls.

Meanwhile Maude’s mother Leslie, 50, who is typically a comedy actress, has starred in George of the Jungle, The Other Woman and How To Be Single.

Also sat in courtside seats was actress Ashley Benson, who opted for rock chic vibes in a leather jacket, white T-shirt and a pair of straight leg jeans.

The furore-causing article was published in December and also included Dakota Johnson, Maya Hawke, Zoë Kravitz and more stars with famous parents, who were mocked on New York Magazine’s The Year of the Nepo Baby cover.

Celebrity nepotism is nothing new but the insult ‘nepo baby’ has become increasingly popular as shorthand to deride it.

Prior to the story, Maude had already addressed her fortune at the family she was born into after her name became linked to the ‘nepo baby’ phrase

Maude got candid about being the daughter of Hollywood icons Judd and Leslie during an interview with Porter magazine in September.

She admitted in the sit-down that she’s ‘in such a lucky position’ to be a nepotism baby, but admitted her term did ‘upset her’ at first.

During her chat with the fashion publication she said, ‘At first, I was sad… I try not to let it get to me because I obviously understand that I’m in such a lucky position.’

Maude said: ‘A lot of people [in a similar position] have proven themselves over the years, so I’ve got to keep going and make good work. It’s so early in my career.’

The performer, who described herself as having been ‘shy’ in high school, said she used it to her advantage.

‘I’d channel all my anxiety into theater. Everything had to be just perfect,’ she emphasized. ‘That’s not always a good thing; I probably burnt a lot of bridges.’

She attributes her perfectionism to having well-respected parents in the entertainment industry.

Maude, older sister to Iris Apatow, 19, explained: ‘I try not to think about that so much, but it definitely drives me. I feel like I really need to prove myself, so I work extra hard.’

The talented TV sensation also noted that she looks to her screenwriter father for guidance.

In fact, he directed her in her first-ever film credits, as she appeared in his 2007 movie Knocked Up and 2009’s Funny People, which both starred her mom.

Judd has encouraged his firstborn to do more than act. ‘My dad always told me acting is tough because you never know what’s going to come next. He always encouraged me to write,’ Maude shared.

The breakout star revealed, ‘Dad always reads what I write, but I have to be at a certain point. I’ll wait until I’m almost done and then get notes from him. I get annoyed because he’ll come up with a better idea, but he’s super-helpful.’
