Seen by many as the calendar highlight of the British summer season, Royal Ascot has finally returned to its former, pre-pandemic glory – with attendees unhindered by Covid restrictions and encouraged to go all out in the sartorial stakes.

Indeed, this year’s published Style Guide for the event, the 11th of its kind, requests formality remains in the Royal Enclosure – but hints at a more relaxed approach elsewhere, suggesting exuberant occasion wear is positively encouraged.

Maya has recently been splitting her time between the UK and the States to spend time with her Brooklyn Nets basketballer fiancé Ben Simmons, 25.

The sportsman proposed in December 2021 after seven months of dating when Maya spent Christmas at Ben’s £3.7million mansion in Moorestown, New Jersey.

A source told The Sun: ‘Ben adores Maya and has fallen head over heels for her. He picked up the ring on Jewellers’ Row in the diamond district of Philadelphia the day before he proposed.

Experts have valued Maya’s emerald-cut diamond engagement ring at £600k ($800k).

Maya and Ben were first romantically linked in June 2021 after they were seen on a night out together at restaurant Sexy Fish in London’s Mayfair.

The couple went public while kissing in the stands at the Wimbledon Tennis Championships in front of the world’s media the following month.
