Michael Clarke, Karl Stefanovic and Jade Yarbrough had no idea Noosa fight was being filmed

EXCLUSIVE: How Michael Clarke and Jade Yarbrough had NO IDEA they were being filmed and went into panic mode when they found out the jaw-dropping footage was about to be released: ‘It was like a bomb went off’

  • Michael Clarke ‘had no idea footage existed’
  • Onlooker secretly filmed their infamous January 10 fight in Noosa
  • Clarke told about footage shortly before Jan 18 broadcast
  • ‘Like a bomb went off’ according to friend

It’s the jaw-dropping footage that has turned the lives of its high-profile subjects upside down.

And according to a source close to the group at the centre of the scandal, both Michael Clarke and girlfriend Jade Yarbrough as well as Karl Stefanovic and wife Jasmine, had no idea their blazing row outside a Noosa restaurant was being filmed by a random onlooker on January 10.

The footage was obtained by The Daily Telegraph and it wasn’t until a week later that Clarke was alerted to the video by a reporter from the publication.

The news, according to a source close to the retired cricketer, was ‘like a bomb went off’ as the famous group began to realise the gravity of what was about to be publicly aired.

The now-infamous footage sees Clarke and Yarbrough – as well as Stefanovic – facing off following dinner at Noosa Waterfront restaurant in Noosaville.

The fight was sparked by Yarbrough accusing Clarke of cheating with ex Pip Edwards.

In the clip, a shirtless Clarke was screamed at and slapped by his furious girlfriend as others tried to defuse the fracas.

Anthony Bell, whose $10million Noosa home served as the group’s base during the holiday, can also be seen calmly trying to scale down the situation.

It’s understood Clarke, Yarbrough and the Stefanovics returned to Sydney in the days following and a full week quietly passed before Clarke was told that the incident was recorded shortly before it was released to the public on January 18.

‘It was like a bomb went off…they all had to re-live it again,’ said a friend close to the tight-knit group.

‘Michael was devastated.

‘His first thought was his family. And then the families of everyone else involved.

‘This wasn’t just about him. This was about parents, kids, partners, everything.’

Clarke has been contacted for comment.

It’s understood the Clarke alerted Jade and the Stefanovics that their violent showdown – which also included plenty of swearing – had been filmed by an onlooker who later sold the footage for a rumoured $10,000.

‘They don’t know who it was… they have no idea,’ said the insider.

‘Everyone had actually, kind of, started to move on. And then the video comes out and it (had to be) re-lived all over again.’

Clarke risks losing sponsorships in the wake of the melee, with The Sydney Morning Herald reporting the incident has already cost him a deal with a skincare brand.

A handful of other contracts are also said to be ‘hanging in the balance’, including his commentary role for Australia’s Test tour of India.

However, he will keep his radio job at Sky Sports Breakfast, station owners TabCorp confirmed to AAP on Thursday. He is expected to address the stoush when he returns to the airwaves on Monday.

The vision shows a shirtless Clarke on the receiving end of a barrage of abuse from his furious girlfriend who screams at him then slaps him across the face.

‘You f**ked her on December 17 … You f**ked her, you’re a f**king dog,’ Jade screams.

Clarke responds: ‘Baby you’re wrong, you’re wrong.’

Dozens of people – including some children – can be seen witnessing the incident.

At one point a woman points out to the warring group that ‘there’s children over there’ as they swore loudly at each other.

Clarke, who tore his hamstring in the melee, told The Daily Telegraph on Wednesday night: ‘I accept full responsibility for this altercation and am shattered by my actions’.

The man who shot the footage later said he twigged that something dramatic was on the cards when he spotted Clarke and Stefanovic in a heated exchange.

‘We were in the park and saw something erupt, and lo and behold it was one of the most famous cricketers in the country and one of the most famous TV identities in Australia fighting each other,’ the man told the publication.
