Michael Clarke will address his row with Karl Stefanovic live on radio

Michael Clarke’s next move: The cricketing great is expected to keep his radio job after wild Noosa brawl and will address what happened on air

Michael Clarke is embroiled in a cheating scandal after brutal footage emerged of the former Test captain being slapped by his girlfriend Jade Yarbrough.

Despite the accusations he cheated on Yarbrough, 30, with his ex Pip Edwards, leading him to then verbally abuse Karl Stefanovic, Clarke, 41, will keep his radio job.

The cricketing great will retain his role on Sydney breakfast radio and is set to address the controversy on air when he’s back in the studio on Monday.

Clarke remains on pre-planned annual leave from his role at Sky Sports Breakfast with the station’s breakfast crew not due to return until the beginning of next week.

A spokesperson from TabCorp has since told AAP the matter was considered a private issue and Clarke was expected back on air as scheduled.

A veteran of 115 Tests for Australia, Clarke has held his role at Big Sports Breakfast since he first partnered Canberra NRL legend Laurie Daley in 2020.

The prodigious run-scorer has also been in commentary as part of the ICC broadcast team for global cricket tournaments, but has no other major media position in Australia.

Clarke has since apologised for his role in the Noosa altercation, telling the Daily Telegraph he accepted full responsibility for the incident and was shattered by his actions.

‘I’m absolutely gutted I’ve put people I hold in the highest regard in this position,’ he said.

‘My actions in the lead-up to this altercation were nothing short of shameful and regrettable. I own this fully and am the only one at fault.’

Stefanovic appeared in his regular role as co-host of Channel Nine’s Today Show on Thursday morning, but did not address the matter.

It’s understood Clarke hopes to win back the heart of Yarbrough despite their now-infamous public bust-up in Noosa.

A close friend of the retired cricket star said a ‘shattered’ Clarke is already talking about winning back Yarbrough despite all but admitting he cheated on her with his ex Edwards.

The revelation comes a day after stunning footage emerged of Clarke along with Yarbrough, her sister Jasmine and her husband Stefanovic, engaged in an ugly spat in a Noosa park on January 10.

At the heart of the feud were allegations Clarke hooked up with ex-flame Edwards on December 17 while Yarbrough was away on holidays.

But incredibly, Clarke is allegedly determined to reconcile with Yarbrough and is plotting a ‘grand gesture’ in the hopes of winning her back.

‘He stuffed up and he knows he stuffed up and he got busted, it is as simple as that,’ a friend of the Aussie cricket legend told Daily Mail Australia.

‘But he wants Jade back. She’s the one. But he knows it’s going to take something big to make it happen.’

His friend added that Clarke is ‘in an emotionally dark place’ and is in close contact with his ‘best friend’ Anthony Bell who was also involved in the Noosa melee.

‘He’s a mess… a complete mess,’ said the friend.

Both Clarke and Bell have been contacted for comment.

The dramatic footage obtained by The Daily Telegraph shows a shirtless Clarke being screamed at and slapped by his hysterical girlfriend as others in the group try to defuse the fracas.

‘I’m wrong? I’m f**king wrong! You’re a f**king liar. I can see everything. You called her,’ Yarbrough screams.

Clarke and Yarbrough were friends for a number of years after they were introduced by Karl Stefanovic. They made their relationship official in August 2022.

It’s understood Stefanovic had attempted to unite the pair romantically several years before but Yarbrough began dating someone else – surfer and charity director Andrew Leece.

However, the pair split in early 2022 with Yarbrough going on to date Clarke casually before the pair cemented their new romance with a trip to Italy in July.
