Last month, Michelle hit back at critics who feel the need to comment on her age.

She posted a quote by actor Richard Gere on her Instagram page, which read: ‘I am old, but my heart is young. We always have the same years in our soul, I know it’s the perfect age.

Michelle previously hit out at critics of the couple’s 22-year age gap and said she was frustrated to be branded as a ‘cougar’.

‘Each year is special and precious and we can live in each. Don’t regret getting old, it’s a privilege that not everyone has.’

Beneath the update, Michelle wrote: ‘I am so fed up with people obsessed with age. I don’t care about it, it’s others that care. Age is just a number.’

She continued: ‘Love this from @richardtiffanygereoffical though I think ageing affects women’s careers far more than men. Age is just a number.’

The actress previously hit out at critics of the 22-year age gap between the duo and was frustrated to be branded as a ‘cougar’.

Michelle said in 2018: ‘Mike is 22 years younger than me and I’m regarded as a predator. It drives me mad. People call him my toyboy beau. He’s nearly 35, for God’s sake.

‘He turned to me the other day and said, “Surely I’m not still your toyboy, am I?” I laugh about it now but it is annoying.

‘And I hate that word cougar. I can’t stand it. I find it so demeaning. A cougar is a predator going around looking for young flesh. I’m certainly not like that.’

Michelle and Mike began dating in late 2012, after they were set up by Michelle’s niece, who is said to have worked for Mike at a retail store.

Soap star Michelle confirmed her engagement to Mike in April 2021 by sharing an image from a friend’s account on her Instagram Stories.

Michelle revealed on social media in April that Mike had popped the question on a hike up Temescal Canyon in Los Angeles – a decade after the pair first met.

She told her Instagram followers: ‘So this happened in #la he got down on bended knee while we were on top of #temescalcanyon basically no one else around just us. It’s #beautfiul and I’m #happy #10years this April about time I think (sic).’

The pair tied the knot in August this year in a ceremony at Islington Town Hall after Michelle’s now-husband previously admitted he didn’t want to get married.

She told OK! Magazine she found the day especially emotional since her late mum Mary – who passed away last year following a two-year battle with cancer – wasn’t there.

Also absent was her daughter Maia, 25, who she shares with ex partner Fabrizio Tassalini, couldn’t attend either since she was ‘away’.

Michelle said: ‘It was very emotional because, as Michael said in his speech, we’ve lost a lot of people and there were a lot of people who couldn’t be there.

‘We had a picture of [Mary] in the registry office next to the celebrant and she was there at the party as well.
