Model, 23, with two different skin tones shares the $28 foundation she swears by for a flawless finish – and it’s a ‘dupe’ for a designer $100 version

  • Melbourne model Onella Muralidharan, 23, has two different shades of skin
  • The condition called vitiligo is caused by loss of pigmentation
  • She opts for MCoBeauty’s UltraStay Flawless Foundation in two tones
  • The $28 products perfectly match each skin colour for a simple matte finish

An Australian model born with two different shades of skin has shared the affordable makeup products she uses that perfectly match both colour tones.

Onella Muralidharan has vitiligo, a condition whereby the skin loses its pigmentation in the cells resulting in discoloured patches, and opts to use products by MCoBeauty.

The 23-year-old Melbourne model swears by the brand’s UltraStay Flawless Foundation ($28) to create an ‘affordable luxe-for-less look’.

Celebrities with vitiligo include model Winnie Harlow and the late pop star Michael Jackson.

In an Instagram video, Onella said: ‘I’m using two shades to match my different skin tones – and this matte-finish foundation has buildable medium-full coverage to even out redness in the skin and control oil for 24 hours, two of my main reasons for using a foundation.

‘It also contains skin-loving ingredients such as ginseng, chamomile, pomegranate fruit and calendula flower extract.’

She then applied a 2-in-1 contour for a pop of colour that instantly highlighted Onella’s cheeks and made her lips look plump.

‘The MCoBeauty Instant Camouflage & Contour Concealer is a multi-use product that blends easily for a crease-proof flawless finish that lasts up to 16 hours and again, I’ve used it in two different shades to match my skin tones,’ she said.

Next, she applied the MCoBeauty Cheek & Lip Tint, which retails for $12, and finished the look by applying mascara.

The UltraStay Flawless Foundation has also previously been praised by beauty lovers as a dupe of the famous cult favourite Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation, which retails for around $100.

MCoBeauty is a vegan and cruelty-free beauty brand, with every product priced under $40.

After completing the makeup routine, Onella looked stunning and was ready to go about her day.

The video has since been viewed more than 36,000 times and hundreds left words of praise, describing the look as ‘gorgeous’.

Others sympathised with Onella and thanked her for sharing her journey with the skin condition.

‘Only just found this account but thank you, I have vitiligo also – though only mild it still knocks my confidence. There is always the possibility that it could get worse – but seeing accounts like this make me realise I have nothing to fear. Glad I found you,’ one person wrote.

Another said: ‘I can’t imagine it’s easy applying makeup with two completely different skin tones. This video makes it look relatively easy, but I bet it’s easier said than done.’
