Molly-Mae Hague hits back at mum-shamers and insists she isn’t ‘neglecting’ baby Bambi
Molly-Mae Hague has insisted she is not ‘neglecting’ baby Bambi before mum-shamers had a chance to accuse her of ‘being a bad parent’.
The former Love Island star, 24, welcomed her first child with fiancé Tommy Fury, also 24, seven months ago.
During her recent YouTube video, Bambi could be heard wailing, as Molly continued to talk to the camera while recording her latest vlog.
But Molly has now reassured fans that she was keeping an eye on the baby monitor and was not ignoring her daughter.
She told her fans: ‘If you ever think I am neglecting the baby monitor and you can hear Bambi in the background, don’t think I’m neglecting her.
‘She just takes a minute to settle off after she’s had her nap.
‘I always leave her for five minutes and she just falls asleep. Don’t think that I’m being a bad mum there.’
Meanwhile, Molly-Mae admitted she ‘wasn’t sure if she was ever going to feel happy again’ after the birth of her daughter.
In an emotional chat posted on YouTube on Thursday, the former Love Island star said she broke down in tears watching a clip of herself struggling to comfort her screaming daughter.
Molly-Mae explained prior to setting up her vlogging equipment, to film an everyday make up tutorial, she had stumbled across some old footage from when Bambi was a newborn.
The reality TV star said: ‘I came across a video which literally nearly made me cry.’
Molly-Mae quickly added a light touch of humour to the conversation by blaming her emotions on the fact her period was due soon.
‘I was home alone with Bambi and she was only a couple weeks old.
‘She was literally screaming and crying, she had colic.
‘I was trying to start vlogging again and I was really trying to rush myself back to chatting to you guys and being back present for you guys.
‘I was just desperate to not fall off.’
Molly shared on reflection she was trying to rush back into everything too quickly and wasn’t giving herself the time to understand the changes to her life.
‘I think seeing that little video clip made me really reflect on how ridiculously far I’ve come and how genuinely as weird as it sounds I wasn’t sure I wa
Molly-Mae recently returned from her sixth holiday of the year after jetting off to Spain with Bambi.
But Molly has now announced that she will be heading to New York on a solo work trip and is feeling ‘anxious’ about leaving Bambi.
‘This is going to be my last evening that I spend with Bambi before I head to NYC tomorrow,’ the influencer said.
‘It’s going to be the longest time I spend without her and I feel really anxious about it to be honest.
‘I’m trying to not put too much energy into the fact that we’re going to be apart for the longest time yet, because I feel all over the place about it and I am anxious that I’m going to feel really homesick in New York…maybe that’s contributed to the fact that I’m putting off packing.’
It comes after Molly-Mae and Tommy were slammed for ‘flaunting their wealth’ after a number of Instagram posts.
The influencer and the boxer, both shared snaps on a private jet with their daughter Bambi, after flying back from Ibiza where they got engaged.
On return to the UK they used the lavish and expensive form of transport but their followers have called them out for the impact on the environment and the insensitivity during a cost of living crisis.
Newly-engaged Molly-Mae shared a photo of her sat on the plane with Bambi on her lap and captioned it: ‘Flying home a fiancé.’
Referring to recent wildfires in Europe in reaction to the post, one person wrote: ‘Molly the world is literally burning, please no more private jets.’
A second wrote: ‘You went from being a lovely relatable down to earth girl to a complete show off and shoving your luxury life in people’s faces with every post. Is it really necessary?’
Another commented: ‘I think you mean flying home with a huge carbon footprint and a guilty conscience – what a way to celebrate an engagement.’ Someone else remarked: ‘Happy for you but private jet?! Is that really necessary? The world is burning :(.’
