A teenage boy has been charged with murder after a ‘lovely’ mother was found dead outside her home following a ‘serious assault’.
Chintzia McIntyre, 48, was pronounced dead at the scene after police, paramedics and air ambulance rushed to the property on Phoenix Place in Chapelford, Warrington.
A local woman in the area told The Sun that there was a ‘horrendous scene’ when emergency services turned up shortly after 9.30am on Tuesday, August 29.
Neighbours of the Ms McIntyre, where the average house prices is around £300,000, have since paid tribute to her, describing her as a ‘lovely’ woman.
The 17-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared before Warrington Magistrates’ Court on Thursday morning where he was charged with murder.
Appearing via video link from HMP Wetherby, wearing a grey prison issue jumper, he only spoke to confirm his name and was not asked to enter a plea. The case was referred to Liverpool Crown Court.
A trial, scheduled to last five days, was set for January 29 next year. The Honorary Recorder of Liverpool Judge Andrew Menary KC remanded the youth into custody ahead of a further hearing on November 17.

Seven police cars were at the scene on Tuesday after being called to the incident, while a police helicopter was spotted circling the area.
A blue forensics tent was soon erected at the scene, with paramedics attending by road ambulance to assist.
People living in the area reported police knocking on doors and visiting businesses asking residents for statements and doorbell camera footage.
DS Jon Betts said on Tuesday: ‘I would like to reassure residents that this is believed to be an isolated incident and there is no risk to the wider community.
‘There is currently an increased police presence in the local area, and I would urge anyone with any concerns to speak to an officer.’
A Cheshire Police spokesperson on Thursday said: ‘Detectives investigating the death of a woman in Warrington have charged a 17-year-old boy.
The teenager, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was arrested on Tuesday, August 29, and has since been charged with murder.
‘The charge relates to an incident which police were called to at around 9.40am on Tuesday 29 August in Phoenix Place, Warrington.
‘Chintzia McIntyre, 48, had been seriously assaulted and was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.’
