‘So I was just playing off of her, you know. A lot of playing off her and a lot of just being in awe of her performance… just feeding off her.’

He added: ‘When you have a good scene partner, your performance gets full. You’re able to actually have moments where you can get lost in it. So I give her all the praise, all the praise.’

The Undoing is based on the 2014 novel 2014 novel You Should Have Known by Jean Hanff Korelitz, which reunites Kidman with her Big Little Lies creator David E. Kelley.

The Undoing follows Grace (Kidman) and Jonathan Fraser (Hugh Grant), who are living the only lives they ever wanted for themselves.

Ismael plays Fernando Alves, the husband of Jonathan’s mistress, who clashes with Nicole’s character.

Their peaceful world comes crashing down with a violent death and a chain of terrible revelations.

Left behind in the wake of a spreading and very public disaster and horrified by the ways in which she has failed to heed her own advice, Grace must dismantle one life and create another for her child and her family.

The six-episode limited series also stars Edgar Ramirez as Detective Joe Mendoza, Noah Jupe as Henry Fraser, Jonathan and Grace’s 12-year-old son, Lily Rabe as Sylvia Steinettz and Donald Sutherland as Grace’s wealthy father Franklin Renner.
