Norman Reedus and Jeffrey Dean Morgan reunite as The Walking Dead co-stars grab lunch in NYC – nearly a year after series finale
Their hit post-apocalyptic zombie series, The Walking Dead, finally came to an end last year after over 10 years on air.
But Norman Reedus and Jeffrey Dean Morgan haven’t let the series finale stop them from maintaining a close friendship.
The former co-stars were spotted catching up and grabbing lunch together in New York City on Friday.
While the duo looked just like any other stylish city dwellers, there was still no missing the stars, with one lucky fan even nabbing a selfie with the two.
Jeffrey, 57, and Norman, 54, were spotted Manhattan’s SoHo district, looking rugged and edgy in their all-black looks.
Jeffrey, who played Negan in the series, wore a relaxed V-neck, distressed jacket with a beaded necklace adding an unexpectedly playful touch to the look.
A lit cigarette was in hand as he crossed the street alongside his former co-star.
As for Norman – who played Daryl Dixon on the series – he opted for a black T-shirt, slacks, and ‘Powerplant’ hat worn over his trademark shoulder-length locks.
The duo made the day of one fan by stopping for a selfie for her. They were also spotted enjoying a tasty lunch along the sidewalk.
Outside of their time on the set, the duo have maintained a close friendship over the years.
‘I spend a lot of time with Norman. Not only do we live next to each other in Georgia, but we both have this big affinity toward motorcycles,’ Jeffrey told ABC News back in 2016.
‘And we spend a lot of time on the roads. It’s kind of a great way to unwind and we have that in common. So I talk to him daily.’
While The Walking Dead came to an end late last year, Daryl and Negan’s journeys have continued in spin-offs.
Norman stars in the upcoming series The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, which has already been renewed for a second season despite it not yet being released until September 10th.
According to the official description of the show, Daryl somehow ends up in France and ‘struggles to piece together how he got there and why’.
The synopsis continues: ‘The series tracks his journey across a broken but resilient France as he hopes to find a way back home.’
‘As he makes the journey, though, the connections he forms along the way complicate his ultimate plan.’
Jeffrey’s spin-off, The Walking Dead: Dead City, debuted on June 18 and has also been renewed for a second season.
Recently, AMC revealed that the name of another spinoff series — which will star Rick and Michonne — has been officially titled The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live.
As of now, a release date for that show has not yet been confirmed but is expected to premiere sometime in 2024.
