‘We don’t live a lavish lifestyle… far from it,’ his tweet began.

‘Worth every penny fella!’ one fan replied.

Reece left Corrie in 2010 after two years on the soap, before joining Emmerdale in 2020. But he was only on the show for year before his character was killed off.

Reece however now directs episodes on Emmerdale and previously said how ‘proud’ he is of his work.

‘No matter how many times you do it, you’re always a little nervous & apprehensive for your first day. I guess it’s a good thing. The day I don’t feel that… will be the day I give it up.’

He later added: ‘For those of you who enjoy your Emmerdale, you might be interested to hear that the two one hour episodes that I recently directed will be shown on Tuesday and Wednesday of this week. I’m very proud of them. Hope you enjoy!’

When he left his acting role on Emmerdale last year, Reece said he was happy with his send off.

His character Paul Ashdale died after a horrific van crash, months of terrorising his son Vinny.

It was an exit that no doubt delighted viewers after Paul spent months abusing his own son Vinny (Bradley Johnson) to keep his dark past a secret, even attempting to silence his girlfriend Liv before the crash put an end to his wicked ways.

Speaking after his departure, Reece said he was glad his exit scenes had finally aired as he’d struggled to keep the storyline a secret.

He said: ‘I’m thrilled if I’m honest. It has been hugely difficult doing scores of interviews with press, TV and radio for the past month whilst trying not to let the cat out of the bag. Phew!’

Reece also reflected on his exit in an interview with The Mirror, admitting that even after years working in television, he doesn’t like to look at himself on screen due to his struggles with body dysmorphia.

He said: ‘In my life I have never been comfortable after things that were said when I was young.

‘I would always look at myself as twice the size I am. It has been the bane of my life. But I work with that.

‘I have had some help and my family are fantastic and they support me. I live with it every day. But I also work with it every day.’
