Ohio man with gas mask arrested with rifle and ammunition on platform of Times Square subway station

An Ohio man with a gas mask was arrested after pulling out a semi-automatic rifle on the platform of New York’s Time Square Subway station.    

Police performing an inspection on Friday of the subway’s A/C/E line at 42nd Street-Port Authority Bus Terminal Station saw the suspect was as he was placing his unloaded rifle on the ground. 

Police found ammunition and a gas mask in his back pack, NBC 4 reported. 

Police approached the man and questioned his intentions and the suspect claimed the gun was legally owned. 

He was arrested, with police yet to name him.
