Awards season is in full swing and all eyes are fast turning towards the biggest night of the year in Hollywood: The Academy Awards.
The bash will honour the best in film from 2022 with several projects and actors already being cited as favourties for nominations.
With this year’s nominees announced on Tuesday, January 24, MailOnline tells you everything you need to know about the awards.

When are the Oscars?
The 2023 Oscars are on Monday, March 12 2023. US viewers can watch the show on ABC while fans in the UK can also livestream the ceremony on the sub channel Sky Cinema Oscars.
The ceremony will once again take place at the Dolby Theatre in LA after the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences signed a signed a 20-year extension to its hosting deal, meaning the show will take place there until at least 2033.

When are the nominations revealed?
The nominations are revealed at 8:30am ET in the US on March 12, or 1:30pm in the UK.
Who are the favourites to win big?
In the Best Actor category, Austin Butler is all but gauranteed to be in the running for his lead role in the biopic Elvis, having already taken home the Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Drama.
Likewise, Colin Farrell is a top contender for his performance in The Banshees Of Inisherin, which saw him win a Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy.
Brendan Fraser’s performance as a reclusive college professor struggling with obesity in The Whale has received universal praise as has Bill Nighy’s turn as a bureacrat facing an illness in Living is another name in the mix.

Adam Sandler’s performance in Hustle, Paul Mescal’s in Aftersun and Hugh Jackman in The Son are also thought to be contenders.

Danielle Deadwyler’s role as Emmet Till’s mother in Till has received universal praise while Ana de Armas’ turn as Marilyn Monroe in Blonde is also thought to be in the running.
Other names mentioned for the nomination include Margot Robbie for Babylon and Emma Thompson for Good Luck To You, Leo Grande.
