Jamie recalled how he ‘knew Phoebe Waller-Bridge back in the day when we were both young actors.’

‘We’d sometimes see each other when working as stand-in actors at script read through’s. We had a laugh, sometimes a pint. Cut to quite recently, and I discovered I still had a phone number for her..’

He continued: ‘We hadn’t spoken for probably 9 years at this point, but I’d recently written a script – a pilot episode of a sitcom I was trying to get off the ground and I thought to myself, alright, she might have just won an Emmy, but I’ll drop her a what’s app and see what happens.’

Phoebe’s reaction astounded Jamie. ‘What I got back was probably one of the most supportive and encouraging messages, from someone who, despite all the glittering (and truly deserved) success, had remained utterly grounded, wonderfully kind and generous to a fault,’ he gushed.

‘The moral of the story? The creative industry can be an extremely uninviting place when you’re on the outside, so whatever you do, be kind, be good, but above all, be more Phoebe Waller-Bridge.’

The tweets have gone viral with over 5k Likes and hundreds praising the Fleabag talent for her kindness.
