Pia Whitesell appeared to take a subtle swipe at Australian tennis star Nick Kyrgios as she attended the Wimbledon tournament in London on Wednesday.

The former Home and Away actress, 26, shared a photo to her Instagram of Kyrgios competing against Chilean player Cristian Garin.

‘Manners and grace. Appreciation @garincris,’ she captioned the image.

Pia also shared a photo of herself and her son Isaiah, 18, sitting in the stands and watching the game.

It comes after Kyrgios was recently called out for spitting in the direction of a fan, verbally abusing line judges and shovelling down sushi during a press conference at Wimbledon.

The Aussie, 27, called one line judge ‘a snitch with no fans’ for reporting his abuse and suggested another was in his 90s and ‘can’t see the ball’ during his five-set win over Britain’s Paul Jubb last week.

But it’s nothing new for the Canberra-born pro, who has an unrivalled on-court rap sheet that gives even John McEnroe, the original bad boy of tennis, a run for his money.

He once threw a tantrum over not having a white towel at the 2019 Rogers Cup, chucked a chair onto the court while losing to Novak Djokovic at the Italian Open the same year, and threw a tennis racket in the direction of a ball boy at Indian Wells as recently as March 2022.

Kyrgios has also repeatedly taken aim at his rivals – quite literally, when he admitted to purposefully aiming the ball at Rafael Nadal during their second-round match at Wimbledon in 2019, saying he wanted to ‘hit him square in the chest.’

He once branded Bernard Tomic ‘dumb’ and ‘irrelevant’, before telling Swiss Grand Slam champion Stan Wawrinka during play that his friend had ‘banged your girlfriend, mate’, earning him a £10,000 fine and 28-day suspension from play.

And off the court, the seemingly impulsive behaviour has continued, including drinking the night before a potentially career-defining match, allegations of cheating from his partners, and having police called during a heated argument with his girlfriend.

Kyrgios has also been summoned the ACT Magistrates Court on August 2 to address allegations he assaulted his ex-girlfriend, model Chiara Passari, which she brought to the attention of police in December 2021.
