- Mohammed Hijab said former prime minister and revered figure was ‘wrong’
Philosopher and scholar Mohammed Hijab said that the former prime minister merited the description by ‘killing babies’.
The row broke out on Morgan’s show, Uncensored, during an interview with Mr Hijab and Rabbi Shmuley Boteach.
After he was asked again by Morgan, Mr Hijab said: ‘Churchill was wrong. By killing in Dresden and Hamburg, indiscriminate killing, collective punishment.’
Mr Hijab insisted he was against ‘indiscriminate killing’ of civilians by any leader, but admitted he didn’t have the figures when pressed on the number of fatalities in German cities during World War Two.
Morgan put it to the scholar: ‘You don’t actually know what you’re talking about.’
He said that conflicts should ‘retaliate to the man, not the babies’.
Defending Churchill’s legacy, Rabbi Shmuley said: ‘Winston Churchill was the greatest statesman of the 20th century. He saved the world from Nazi terror.’
The American blasted Mr Hijab for showing no gratitude to the revered figure and accused him of ‘trading in falsehoods’.
In another bizarre comment on the programme, Mr Hijab also branded Israel’s president Isaac Herzog as ‘more slippery than the lubricants that he sells in his daughter’s sex shop’.
The Youtuber was previously accused of ‘stirring up hatred’ last year when he posted on his channel, which has over 1 million subscribers, responding to clashes between Hindus and Muslims in Leicester following a cricket match between India and Pakistan.
In one video he said: ‘If they [Hindus] believe in reincarnation, what a humiliation for them to be reincarnated into some pathetic, weak, cowardly people like that. I’d rather be reincarnated as a grasshopper, bruv!’
He later denied he was addressing all members of the religion.
