Police have arrested a 17-year-old boy after a woman, 48, was found dead outside her home in Cheshire.
Police said the victim was ‘seriously assaulted’ in a ‘domestic incident’ at her property in Phoenix Place in the Chapelford area of Warrington.
She was pronounced dead at the scene and the boy has since been arrested on suspicion of murder after a brief search.
Cheshire Police said officers were called to reports of a domestic incident at around 9.40am today. They found the woman at the property.
Emergency services flooded the area and eight police vehicles were at the scene at one point.

An air ambulance was called to the scene and the police helicopter was seen circling the skies above the scene as cops conducted door to door inquiries.
Detectives erected a cordon blue tent outside a house, which remained cordoned off this afternoon. They have appealed for information and dashcam footage of the incident.
DS Jon Betts said: ‘I would like to reassure residents that this is believed to be an isolated incident and there is no risk to the wider community.
‘A 17-year-old boy has been arrested and he is being held in police custody.
‘There is currently an increased police presence in the local area, and I would urge anyone with any concerns to speak to an officer.
‘As part our ongoing enquiries, I would like to hear from anyone who was in the Phoenix Place area between 9.30am and 9.45am and believes they may have witnessed the incident.
‘The same goes for anyone with any video or dashcam footage.’
