President Trump and Melania land in London ahead of pivotal NATO summit

President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump disembarked Air Force One in London on Monday night ahead of a pivotal summit among NATO allies.

The president landed at London’s Stansted Airport late Monday night for the diplomatic trip — which comes amid ongoing quarrels over defense spending by NATO allies.

Before he departed Washington D.C., Trump called the summit “one of the most important journeys that we make as president.”

The president is scheduled to have breakfast with Jens Stoltenberg, the secretary general of NATO, on Tuesday morning.

Following the meeting with Stoltenberg, Trump will spend 48 hours in talks with world leaders including French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

Trump will also have tea with Prince Charles and his wife Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall.

Queen Elizabeth II and British Prime Minister Boris Johnson will host Trump and the other NATO leaders at back-to-back receptions Tuesday evening.
