A celebrity chef has revealed that she spent more than $3,500 on groceries to restock her famous client’s pantry.

Brooke Baevsky, a private celebrity chef based in Los Angeles, California, left the internet stunned when she revealed that went shopping for her client at the luxury supermarket chain Erewhon Market – and her total bill came out to just over $3,500.

According to the cook, she purchased things like granola, organic juices, tomato paste, cashews, and canned beverages during the shop, as well as a slew of fruits and veggies like berries, Romanesco broccoli, dragon fruit, onions, rainbow carrots, sweet potatoes, purple artichokes, jackfruit, and avocados.

Other things on the grocery list included some more obscure items like bone broth, a nutrient and collagen-filled soup made from simmering animal bones in water for an extended period of time which costs $12 at Erewhon, cacao nibs, a highly nutritious chocolate product made from crushed cocoa beans which costs $23 for a 16 ounce bag, lacuma powder, a low-sugar sweetener and can be used as a substitute for sugar which costs $12 for an eight ounce bag, and sea moss gel, a popular ingredient beloved by stars like Kim Kardashian and Hailey Bieber due to its high vitamin count which costs $36 for a 16 ounce jar.

Brooke, who goes by Chef Bae on TikTok – where she has gained more than 175,000 followers for often sharing a glimpse into the life of a celebrity chef – opened up about the shockingly expensive food shop on the video streaming platform recently, and the clip quickly went viral, gaining more than 3.5 million views in matter of days.

‘How much did I just spend at Erewhon today for my client? $3,515.09,’ she said in the video, while showing off the total on the checkout screen.

In a follow-up TikTok, which was viewed 600,000 times, Brooke revealed all the things that she purchased for her client, which added up to more than three grand.

Erewhon is known to be one of the most luxurious grocery stores in all of California, and it contains high-priced, locally produced and organic items. 

The most elite celebrities shop at the grocery store – including Kourtney Kardashian, Hailey Bieber, Miley Cyrus, and Kaia Gerber. 

Many people were surprised – and furious – over the amount of money she spent on just one grocery bill, and they took to the comment section to share their thoughts, with some calling it a ‘waste’ of money and others wondering if it was a ‘joke.’

‘How lucky to be able to spend $3K on food alone while that $3K is for my rent, food, bills, and gas – and if we are lucky a little splurge,’ one disgruntled viewer wrote. 

‘The world is a weird place. So many go hungry. Not their fault but it’s sad,’ said someone else.

‘I don’t even make that much money in a month and this is their casual pantry restock? Bruh,’ read a fourth comment, while a fifth said, ‘That’s more than i have ever made in one month.’

Someone else called the chef’s client ‘out of touch,’ while another person said they ‘gagged’ when they saw the total.

Some videos show her preparing lavish lunches and cooking up delicious dinners for her client, while others feature her taking trips to Erewhon with their personal driver.

In one video, the chef explained that she begins her day by working out in ‘one of the gyms’ at her client’s home, before she starts making them breakfast.

She handed the meal to her client’s personal butler, named Adam, before she moved on to lunch. 

She started by putting crispy potatoes in the oven, which she cooked until they were perfectly golden, before making blackened fish with a side of green beans.

She also prepared a ‘lunch dessert,’ which contained a ‘gluten free and vegan carrot cake.’

Brooke then started preparing dinner, which included fresh pasta drenched in truffles and mixed with ‘dry-aged beef.’ She also made an ‘almond flour, vegan chocolate cake’ for dessert.
