Rebel Wilson’s personal trainer Jono Castano shares his tips to help get you in shape for 2021 

He’s the celebrity trainer who has transformed the bodies of Rebel Wilson, Pia Miller, Jodi Anasta, Laura Dundovic, Hugh Sheridan and Lincoln Lewis.

So it goes without saying Jono Castano, 29, knows a thing of two about delivering results to those who demand them.   

As the New Year approaches, Daily Mail Australia caught up with in-demand fitness expert to get his top tips on how to get the ball rolling on a leaner, meaner, fitter you.

Jono’s first piece of advice is articulate what your fitness goals are, and why you want to achieve them.

‘This is paramount as it drives everything you want to do,’ says the Colombian-born former soccer player. ‘If you don’t have a purpose, you won’t stay on track!’

Next up, set goals that are attainable, realistic and measurable.  

‘Little wins along the way make it more enjoyable and will encourage you to keep going,’ says Jono.

The buff hunk, who runs Acero Gym in the Sydney suburb of Kensington, also urges people to start off their new year fitness journey slowly. 

‘If your goal is to eat healthier, or add exercise to your routine, you’ll be more successful by starting with small changes – and building on them,’ he says. 

Of course, the best results are achieved with the right fuel, and Jono encourages everyone to understand the importance of what goes into their bodies.

‘The iPhone already has a health tracker app and there are many apps out there to count your calories,’ says Jono. 

‘If losing weight is a goal, your intake needs to be less than the calories you burn daily.’

‘It doesn’t need to be on-going thing, but it can certainly help with results and show you new ways to train for optimal effect.’ 

Earlier this month, Jono flaunted his own jaw-dropping physique on Instagram.

In the image shared to his 575,000 followers, Jono showed bulk in all the right places as he stood proudly for a very revealing locker room selfie. 

The caption-less image spoke volumes, as his washboard abs and bulging physique did all the talking.
