The Dem who cried wolf! Rep. Adam Schiff makes apocalyptic prediction GOP-led House will be ‘chaos’ – despite being condemned for hyping Steele dossier and leading failed Trump impeachments
- Democrat Adam Schiff said on Sunday that he thinks a Republican House majority will lead to ‘chaos’
- In an interview he agreed with an ABC News host that he could face removal from the House Intelligence Committee, which he currently chairs
- Schiff was a major proponent of the now discredited Steele dossier that made allegations of collusion between Trump and the Russian government
Democratic Representative Adam Schiff said in an interview on Sunday morning that under Republican leadership the House of Representatives would be ‘chaos’.
Schiff made the apocalyptic prediction when asked about his potential removal from the House Intelligence Committee, which he currently chairs, in an interview on ABC News’s This Week.
Schiff is a high-profile Democratic lawmaker who made similarly cynical allegations regarding the collusion of Trump with Russia. Many of those allegations were substantiated by the Steele dossier, much of which has now been found to be false.
Schiff’s position on the intelligence committee may now be precarious as GOP Leader Kevin McCarthy has ambitions to become the next speaker. He has said that if that happens Schiff would be stripped of his committee role.
Due to the slim Republican majority in the House, Schiff argued that for McCarthy to achieve the votes he will need to become speaker he will have to appeal to even the most extreme members of the party.
‘Well, I suspect he will do whatever Marjorie Taylor Greene wants him to do,’ Schiff said in the interview on Sunday morning.

In the interview on Sunday Schiff added that McCarthy ‘is a very weak leader of his conference, meaning that he will adhere to the wishes of the lowest common denominator and if that lowest common denominator wants to remove people from committees, that’s what they’ll do.’
Schiff continued: ‘It’s going to be chaos with a Republican leadership and sadly the kind of crazy caucus has grown among the Republicans. Many of the Republicans who have won primaries in deeply red districts are coming to Congress,’ referring to members including Marjorie Taylor Greene and the Paul Gosar.
Controversial Republican Marjorie Taylor Greene was a favored candidate of the Trump administration.
She said prior to the Republican capture of the House that should control be won investigations into the FBI, Justice Department and the Biden administration would take place.

Schiff’s predictions of doom come despite criticism he has faced for hyping up the discredited Steel dossier that alleged Trump had been colluding with Russia ahead of his 2016 election campaign.
