Won’t be long now
One of the most heavily rumored and requested characters for Street Fighter 5 for years of the game’s life, and now we know when her return to the grand stage will be coming.
Alongside her big gameplay showcase at the Spring Update event, Capcom also announced Rose’s official release date for SF5, and she’s coming within the next few weeks.
Rose will be hitting SF5 in just 13 days with her release date set for Monday, April 19 though that’s not all coming to the fighting game on that day.
The upcoming fighter is said to have five costumes in total incoming though the only one we got to see during the stream was for her traditional dress that looks like an updated version of the one she wore in her arcade ending of Street Fighter Alpha 2.
They did not confirm whether or not all of her outfits will be available on launch day or if she’ll only have the standard story and battle costumes out the gate to choose from.
For those looking to pick up the game in its fifth year, Capcom is holding a special sale promotion until April 29 with the base game discounted to $8, $20.09 for Champion Edition and $14.99 for the Champion Edition Upgrade Kit on PlayStation 4.
Rose will be available for purchase separately for $5.99 or as part of the Season 5 Character Pass for $24.99. The Premium Pass is $39.99 and comes bundled with everything from the Character Pass plus bonus character Eleven and additional costumes.
Rose’s release timing matches up to what we previously predicted, as Capcom seems to have followed a similar window as to what they did for Dan following the Winter Update stream.
The Spring Update stream went over all of Rose’s moves including her specials and entire V-System as well as some complete rounds from actual gameplay, so we’ll have a full breakdown of absolutely everything shown coming shortly from our own resident Rose superfan Jonathan ‘Catalyst’ Grey.
